i am still up in the air if i want to give the x a shot or not. We will see.

 

Thought I would bring this thread back to life, what is the general consensus among EvoX owners today? Still deserves the hate it gets from older gen Evo owners?

 

the X has been proven no need to convince nobody who has an 8 or 9 evo.

like most people (I assume), I didn't absolutely love the X when it came out. it's since grown on me tremendously. I typically don't like Evos that are overly modded, but the X looks pretty sick when it's completely overhauled.

with that said, my only gripe that still stands to this day, and no offense X owners, is the interior. it just looks like a rental car to me. but this plagues all "new" cars. rip it all out and make it a full blown track car, it looks pretty awesome.

 

They just should of stayed 4G63

 

The x has too much in common with the standard lancer/ralliart, both aesthetically and technical. Just not enough different about it to make it special. Everything is too plastic including the engine bay. Too many production years and making them in too many countries to be rare or unique. I don't hate them but I don't think they're anything special.

 

The X doesn't seem any less different from the base lancer as the CT9A

 

The previous Gens, 1-9 are more basic than hell. Having driven Evo 1, 3, a couple 4's, a 7 and an 8 I can tell you those are as basic as a 2001 Hyundai Accent. The base X GSR especially as a 2008 is plain jane as well. But you get into the higher trims, or the 2015's, and they came a long way. Not luxorious by any means but worlds above the 1-9, even above the basic 2008 GSR.

The best thing you can do is mix and match interior bits to make it what you want. I love my interior now. Went from looking like a Caravan with non heated Recaros, to a place I actually wanna spend time and enjoy.

Not even a little bit. Mod for mod, dollar for dollar the 4B11T is superior to the dated 4G63T for 95% of people. I can say that as a die hard 4G63 enthusiast. Mitsubishi did an amazing job with the 4B11T, and the X all around.
