Now if you mean dealerships actually trying to markup an X to 45k I'll buy it since they'll be silly with it, but for 45ish as Mitsu's official tag? Eh, well this thing better live up to the magazine rumors of this flirting with sub 4 second 0-60 performance to think this is remotely possible. Otherwise 45k will have people think about paying just alittle more to nab a GT-R, plus we still don't know how much the STi's will be officially.

I will wait until the RS model is available, and the new bugs are worked out.

Also there is no aftermarket parts available for it yet, and I don't think I could drive it around in stock form for that long.

I suspect others may feel the same, so the first model probably wont sell out.

Ultimately until the cars are on the lot nothing is 100% certain.

The Evo X will be more $ than the current model. It'll be at the $45k mark with SST ($6k), Nav ($2k), Leather/Sunroof ($1,500-$1,750) or so. Okay I concede this does seem high. I'm just going on what I've heard from someone at Mitsubishi.

Look for the RS to start at $32k and GSR $35k.

We don't have that much longer to wait until the car is out. All will be certain then.

Incidentally, the STi will be priced around $35-$37k give or take $1k.

It's very likely.
The GTS is not sold out. My local dealership has about a dozen or more sitting on the lot. My sister just bought one recently.

where do you get these numbers from? they seem way off base to me. the VW/Audi DSG box is like a $1500 option. how do you figure the SST is a $6000 option?

another thing that gets me is people complaining about the X being 40k+ with all the options. wtf? if you get ALL the options for any car you're gonna end up with a BIG number. ever play rich and check out the BMW site? $10k in options is hella possible, hella quick when you start clicking everything your heart desires...

as long as the base evo x is reasonable 33-35k, i'd be happy. honestly who expects the evo to come stock with moonroof, nav, etc? and if you really want the good stuff, you gotta pay. it's when you are forced to buy the stuff you don't really need that's the problem...

The number for the SST, which is only a broad estimate based upon reasonably good information that I've heard from a contact at Mitsu. Like I said earlier, all will be clear shortly when the cars are on the dealers lots.

They may be 1k more, but the ugliness that you get for that 1k? PRICELESS

You're way off.

The JDM prices for the Evo X have already been released and it's splattered all over the JDM brochure. Straight Yen to USD conversion is $27K for the RS and $36K Premium fully-loaded.

The ASpec Evo8's and 9's were priced at $1-2K more than their JDM counterparts. Based on this consistent pricing history and the current auto market the range for the Evo X will be starting at 29K for RS, up to 38K MAX for Premium loaded before TTL.

Yeah, because a straight currency conversion ALWAYS works.

Guess well have to wait and see.

Didn't the above poster alude to the fact that that's the way the current model is priced? Therefore he is making the assumption that the X will have a similar price point.

Also, I think US$6k for SST is way off the mark. As the other poster has pointed out about $1.5k gets you DSG from VW. Four times the price for SST? I don't think so Tim.

Regardless of conversions and package prices.

All will be known when the cars actually get here. I just think that people are hoping the cars on only going to be a little bit more than the current cars. From what I've heard from Mitsu they are going to be pricey.

Edit: Okay my contact seems to be off with their info.
