Lancer GTS models are already sold out.
Will EVO X repeat this after launching?
It's very likely.

I'm really hoping the RS isn't very popular since that is what I plan to purchase. I absolutely refuse to pay dealer markup so I may wait until fall of '08 or even '09 if I have to, to wait until the hype dies down.

I really doubt it.
I hear the price might be a little more steeper then the others.

i really wish you luck on that because i think it will be opposite. Dealers will markup RS and it will be special order thing which will suck because i also want 1 WW RS

Well, knowing that local dealerships in Canada have been taking deposits for Evo X since the beginning of the summer I would say they will be sold out for the first few months, atleast here in Canada.

My local Mitsu store has FOUR Lancer GTS's that are unsold. Mitsubishi will keep delivering them throughout the year as they're made. They'll run out at times and I doubt they will be on the showroom floor for very long but they won't sell out. AFIK, it's not a limited production run with a finite number like say the MS3 was.

I've thought about that. Considering the RS is a fairly limited production model they may mark them up a bit. If that is the case I'll just pony up the extra cash for a GSR. My reasoning for picking up an RS is simply to save some money so I have more for aftermarket accessories. If they start marking them up over MSRP that kinda defeats the purpose.

Of course not... It's a 30k+ mitsubishi. The market is small.
