Edmunds: First Drive: 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
So no TC-SST unless you get the MR with the softer Bilstein suspension, and no RS option for 2008.
My EVO VIII is happy... I won't jump on the X bandwagon for at least another year. I hope Mitsubishi's engineers give the RS some steroids before then. Otherwise I have to start "babying" my VIII, because I will be driving it for a long time.

Dude, who are you asking? The spec's for the Evo RS haven't been announced. Heck, it hasn't even been announced if Mitsu. is even making an RS version for sale in America.
I never liked the Evo X but now that I know more solid information about it, I think it will dominate in the future. Yes it looks a little funky but then again who is going for looks? It is all about the performance in my opinion.
The writer was quick to point out that the X was 2 sec quicker than a U.S. Spec IX! Put it up against the Japanese spec IX with the All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) and I bet it would not be faster.
He may have meant SAYC..
I cannot wiat to make the X my daily driver. It is absolutely perfect for me. I want a more refined car that is ***** to the wall, has navigation, wont put me into the wall when i wonder off on my hour commute to work. Absolutely perfect for me. (not to mention the SST - no more dead clutch foot!)
The intercooled, turbocharged 4B11 inline-4 shares its basic architecture with the normally aspirated engine found in the 2008 Lancer, but it has been extensively reengineered for boosted use in the Evo. Unique pieces include a semi-closed deck block, a forged crank with an 86mm stroke and forged connecting rods.

"Speed is one thing, but once we drove the Evo IX that Mitsubishi had on hand for driving comparisons, it was clear that the outgoing car is the livelier ride. The Evo X is quicker point to point by virtue of its chassis magic, while the outgoing Evo IX requires more from the driver to go fast. You can guess which one proved more rewarding to the guy behind the wheel."
Nuff said. That the IX is more fun is this guy's opinion. And he drove each car back to back.

Well i guess ill save some money when i buy because i always went for the MR but ill have to settle for the GSR cause i want the 5 speed i wish they had a 6 speed option for the MR. They prolly will but I don't think ill be able to wait a whole year to see if they release it later on..
Also was wondering if you put the sst in s-sport mode i thought you would have to use the paddles to shift sounds like i will still be auto but you could use them if you wanted to?!. Whats the point then just let it do it for ya and how do you launch something like that but i guess im looking for the go not show part of it.
I just want my 9 back dang it
