EVO 10 GSR AND MR OPTIONS FOR THE US... not a question, info inside...
Mitsubishi is evolving their customer base. It's actually very smart to do. People in the GSR and MR income range (like me cuz I'm old-37) don't destroy cars like the younger buyers. Think about how much lower their warranty costs will be.
They may save on warranty work, but I'd be inclined to believe their sales will suffer from the increased price points. And there's no guarantee they'll save on warranty work, anyway. The kind of person that forgoes a more plush car like a BMW at the same price as a X could very likely be the same type of person that's going to beat on it. On top of that, they're risking pricing the car out of reach of a significant portion of its fanatical support base.
It's all speculation at this point, but I think a $2k-$3k hike would be a bad move, even if they are trying to move upscale.
Calm down people, these prices obviously aren't legit. If they were, then an optioned out evo X MR would run $45K. Mitsu knows that it can't compete in that price range, and that they would effectively committing suicide.
What difference do their demographic targets make to you as a buyer - worry about cost and value. Would it make a difference if the range was 35-45k or 300-350k?
The lack of verified information is disconcerting. I've spent a lot of time trying to convert Audi and BMW enthusiasts to the EVO and with a GA release process like this, I'm having a hard time convincing them Mitsu has their act together. Fortunately, reviews on the car and anticipated resale is a plus and keeps prospects engaged.
Good luck to those interested!

That can't be legit. But if it is.
I might look at the Nismo Spec, 350z. That is about 38k over here. Or I might get the Lexus IS(F).
Because if the X is running for that, for 5k more you can get the Lexus IS(F) which is 500hp. Debut to come out in Spring Q1-Q2.

Because its not from an online source. Its from mitsubishi that gave out confidental files to mitsubishi departments and dealers across the US, mostly to the more prominent selling dealers. The info shouldnt have been brought over here from where it was taken from.
But the info is 100% fact.

People need to also take in consideration that projected annual income is a nationally projected figure. National average of cost of living / personal and family expenses / other recreational activities. Understand that they try to estimate the type of buyer for this catagory car at its price level. Can someone who makes sub $30k annual income afford a new X? Sure they can. If they have no other or lesser of expenses, or chose to live a less involved life. Or have other means of indirect income to support themselves. Too many variables to list and consider. But again understand that its a matter of estimating an income expectancy that allows them to afford other things in life, a "$40K" dollar car, and be comfortable. And not worrying about where and how much their next paycheck might be. $35-40k is still $35-40K. Regardless of the item/product. They look at perspective. With this purchase, and your daily life activities/expenses, how much should one make annually to afford this? The same goes for all other manufacturures. Remember most enthusiasts such as ourselves put more involvement into our cars than a lot of other model cars, relatively speaking of course. So more of our income is put into our cars. Modding, accessorizing. After being on several forums throughout the years, a hobby is a hobby. Cars, trucks, planes, guns, knitting, gardening, fishing, video games....whatever. Its all projected figures people. Only thing to really think about is that Mitsu has this product, its about $35k+ and do you want to afford it. Yes or no. I can't wait to

j/k
