EVO 10 GSR AND MR OPTIONS FOR THE US... not a question, info inside...
I'll tell ya.. Theres no phuckin way in hell that I'm paying over 40K for this car.. And thats a lot to say from me.. Ive been driving AWD Mits cars since 1992.. If an optioned out MR takes me beyond 40K, I'll be driving a damn Hemi Charger with a 200 shot of NOS, and call it the day..
Listen....I think many of you are missing the point about the targeted income level. The key word in the phrase below is HOUSEHOLD. Household usually means two or more people, like a husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend, pimp and hooker...whatever.....
"They are also looking at the median household income of a GSR buyer to be around $90k and the MR buyer to be around $112k."
So if each person makes $45K, that would make up $90K for the "household." So really, Mitsu is targeting people who make between $45K and $60K per year. Now that doesn't sound too unreasonable, does it?

But to me, it's the numbers that I am seeing.
But 45k for the MR? Still a little higher then I expected.
for folks who can pay 45K for an Evo, I am sure a large portion would
pony up 4K more for the 335i.
Think about it,
econo-box vs luxury I6 twin-turbo.
There is no contest.
With dealer markups, at lease initially, Mitsu is really pricing the evo X
into territories where it does not belong!

The 4g63 is DONE, bye bye, adios, so long, farewell. If that ralliart lancer ends up being turbo afterall, it wont be a 4g63 thats for sure.
I'm currently milking a beater car until the Evo X comes out, i have the cash in the bank to buy one, but those prices and options are making me think twice and hard at a bunch of other model cars that could be potentially just as fun and better daily drivers.
Audi TT Quatro
BMW 335i or ix, or the new 135i
even the Mercedez C300
Saab Aero 93
Acura TL-S
I was going to wait for the evo no matter what, but with these weird options and pricing i'm starting to get worried.
Was hoping to get a new Blue GSR with bremo's, the upgraded tires, wing, nav + stereo + the 30gig harddrive thing, manual trans, and it better come with the new AWD system for like $35k-$36k out the door.
With this crap it'll be more like almost $39-40 out the door and be missing some of the options i'm looking for that are only going to be in the MR.
LAME if this is true, i hope people from mitsu read these forums and take note.

Unfortunately, I am hearing both Mitsubishi and Subaru are heading towards luxury dept.
After this generation Subaru, is rumored to have the next STI pricing going above 50k where they want to compete with Porcshe, no longer want the EVO's to compete with them.
