2011/2012 changes for the X?
Well I'm hoping we can get an iPod interface. I really miss it from my previous car. It pisses me off to know that aUstralian EVO's get iPod interfaces. I would buy it but I'm not sure if it will work on the North American MMCS stereo.
I work at a dealership (although they are not really on top of the mitsu news...) and I will ask the sales manager tomorrow for sure but I don't think any orders have been placed except for two 2010 SE models, one GG one PBP. Just personally though, I think there will be something more for these 2011 evos if they will be produced. Facelift for sure.
It's funny you should mention this, I would actually only buy the Evo 9 MR, but as soon as I up the power, I'd swap it out for the 5-speed and get some beefy clutches. It's sad to see manual slowly fading away
Ferrari dropped all their manual transmissions as of this year

I know everyone's skeptical about the Evo's future. But what about the very near future? There's a lot of time between now and 2013. So how about some ideas of what
could do to finish off the last iteration of a combustion engine Evo? Obviously the key here is to make substantial improvements with a budget-oriented mindset.
So let's do it. No over the top upgrades here. We're talking no kidding, realistic, obtainable improvements.
I'll start:
Direct Injection !!! Is it too much to ask? Even the small budget sporty cars (Mazda comes to mind) are rockin this. Doesn't DI yield better fuel economy too?
Better quality interior materials. I'm sure a sturdier dash like the VW's wouldn't be that hard to replicate. The faux CF trim is lame. And I'm not sure about the VIII's and IX's, but our interior is EXACTLY like the base Lancer's... Which sort of pisses me off.
Factory Gauges. No brainer.
RS trim. Nothing but the necessities.
Some type of tranny upgrade, whether it be a strong 6MT, or a taller final drive in the 5MT. Upgraded clutches would go without saying.
Thoughts?

I hope it comes with a metal Clutch master cylinder
. That way we can all do swaps to something that works out of the box with Mitsu's name behind it. I'm tired of paying 500bucks for a friggin MC.
The rest of you guys looking for cosmetic upgrades, go suck on it
. I don't see how you guys could be wishing for all that instead of what really matters. My wishlist as follows.
bigger turbo please. MOAR!!!!!!
metal CMC: ABSOLUTE MUST!!!
short shifter like subaru
better accelerator pedal
SS brake or clutch lines, I'll take either or both.
Less restrictive exhaust, wider piping if possible
functional intercooler water-spray like JDM X.
Metal UICP (They already provide this I think. They should just make it standard)
don't waste time and money on rattles etc.
I don't think we should get all of that in one go, at-least half of them will be good enough for me.

the MR is MR because the SST, in the US.
So if you take the SST out you will have a GSR. LOL.
They put the MR badge on the GSR for the US because they know we are a label ****** . So the GSR wouldnt sell as much with the new tranny ,as if they put a MR badge on it. And they where right.
Other wise no real MR made so far.
