Thats exactly how I feel about it, but apart from that its a pretty good gearbox, the ratio's are pretty good, they remind of me of my RS ratio's but with an extra gear to give more speed.

 

funny to see how people are now pointing out the short comings of the MR now that it's coming stateside...specifically the 6 speed....

but i do agree with you folks. I hate the STI shifter and if it's anything like that 6 speed ... it sucks. I bought my evo 8 two months ago and i don't have any regrets about the MR coming. I definitely want to test drive it though.

I'm happy with the way the regulater EVO performs. I don't care about the MR suspension cuz i plan on upgrading to RRE JICs. Don't really care about the ACD as most ppl will drive it on Tarmac. would be fun to see how the snow mode performs in the midwest winter though.

If the MR really isn't that lighter than the regular EVo I don't really care. but i do like that grey color, wheels and headlights though.

and hopefully i'll be getting the UTECH and turbo back exhaust so we should be evenly matched...

Hoping they have the MR at the NY auto show. I'll be in NYC this weekend so can't wait to check it out.

The page to watch is the PRESS RELEASE page where they will have a formal announcment..That little snippet is so vague it's not even funny.

If the "MR" was coming, it would be with a lot more pomp and circumstance then what you have seen thus far fo sho..

The reason why I think they do not have a press release yet is that they may be waiting for subaru to announce the HP on their new STi, spec C or whatever. So that may be the reason why they haven't officially annouced it. But I'm pretty confident that it's coming stateside. Otherwise mistu won't put it on their website and say it's coming in fall as a 2005 model.

It doesn't make sense for to say on their website that the MR is to arrive Fall '04 and yet have no official press release. Unless...

They're playing cat and mouse with Subaru .

I don't think is worried too much about how the STi will handle... they know they have Subaru beat... Spec-C? whatever... but whp is altogether a different beast .

I guess is seeing how deep into the parts bin (HKS?) to go... i.e. MR FQ-330, perhaps with 280 torque, or is FQ-300 more than enough?

AND YES, MITSU DEALERS AT LEAST IN MICHIGAN AND OHIO KNOW OF THE MR COMING....

I just keep thinking it's probably a PDF file containg all the details of the MR for the dealers to read.
