Maybe they suck, but it's pretty much the same guys and gear so you can make some comparisons and conclusions.

The big one is, few cars can best the current Evo's performance.

I'm sure this has been posted, but it is a tight MR video for those who have not seen it.

Japanese Spec Evo MR and Video

 

Yeah, 0.88g is weak. I remember reading somewhere it was 0.97g for the current Evo 8.
I have seen tests of BMW 325i pull 0.88g with the sport package.

 

Those numbers for the EVO 8 are not right. When SCC tested the EVO along with Carrera 4S, Audi S4 and M3, the EVO had 0.93g and slalom speed of 72.3. I've also read some where about 0.97g and a similar slalom speed.

temperature, tire wear, humidity, location, surface, etc all can affect absolute numbers quite a bit..

You can only compare side by side tests. like the one with the Evo and all the supercars.

Testing an Evo in Jan to an Evo in September in the same place would most likely have dramtic differeneces. even if you put brand new tires and clutches on and then tested. or after a 500 mile scrub/break in period.

You have to comprehend the results, not just regurgitate them.

 

Hell I can't wait for an Overweight Japanse or UK guy or gal with an MR needs some new seats to fit their larger bottom. Step in Hooptie and the trade is on!!!

Also I wonder how much the seats and wing will retail for.

NO MR AT THE NY AUTO SHOW!!!!!!!

I asked the bimbo Mitsu reps and they were so clueless!

One of them might of overheard a converstion earlier this week during press only entry - that included MR and she thought it may be coming out in september 05.
I told her about the snipet on their website and of course she was unaware of that info.
So frustrating!

Anyway, I got some pics of the rs and the new eclipse which I'll post later as cancellation prize.

BTW, subaru camp didn't have anything shocking to present either.
