I'm a former Texan... was in Dallas for a time. How about y'all?

And M3lachsilber... I don't know if your joking, but if you aren't grab and Car and Driver and take a look, this is what you'll see:

Editorial Office
2002 Hogback Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105. 734-971-3600. .

But if you're kidding, where's Holy Hill?

Peace,

MR is a model (Evo 8.5) much like the TMEs (Tommi Mak Edition or Evo 6.5)

GSR is a trim level. The other standard levels are RS, RS-II, GSR. The TME and the MR is available in RS and GSR trims.

The Turbo is the same as the EVO VI.

So we're basically getting the 16G with a 10.5 exhaust housing, minus the titanium wheel--correct?

Did they change the wastegate at all?

Thanks man... I went to UW-Madison for undergrad. I'll have to take my girl (both girlfriend and car) for a trip and check out Holy Hill .

They changed the wastgate in the MR as well - two solenoids to control boost. Also, new cams as per SPEED on the JDM vehicle. supposedly the US versions will have higher whp... maybe like the FQ-300 with a little change in intake/exhaust. We'll see.

But the car's going to be SWEEEET.

Why do some dealers not know a thing? Well, I think it all depends if they're enthusiasts or not and how much they research on their own, bump shoulders with the district reps and all.

Just call your dealer and tell them you want to put an order in on one..
That way when it's announced, you will have one of the first!!

Write it up with conditions of sale.."subject to price announcement"

Graduated from the UW myself.

The Solenoid is likely from the JDM FJO (3000gt), it is a dual port solenoid air valve. It is very good. The recirc BOV is the same as the 1G Eclipse which is also an improvement vs the VIIs plastic unit.

Ti turbine wheels were a JDM option on GSR and came on most RS since the Evo VI. Inconel turbines were always standard or at least more common. Going to the Evo VI wheel is a good move if the low end response is not bad. The new solenoid would definitely help.

Isn't the 3000GT the GTO?

There was FTO, which was a FWD sports coupe that sorta died... I think it was NA too. Not too sure.

Wow, so the BOV is upgraded... maybe I need to get me one of those, although my current BOV isn't giving me any problems so it may not be a big deal.

What sort of improvements do we see with the dual port solenoids? Better response and peak hold?

Better response yes. The BOV is basically a very good stock BOV it is the same one that Buschur uses.

Hey man, cool to have a fellow badger on the site... when did you graduate?

The new wastegate helps to maintain better response.

No LHD MRs to date.

I've been tied up, and haven't hit the forum in about a week. But yes, I was serious, as Ford makes $7,000 - $10,000 on EVERY Crown Vic / Grand Marquis.

Got proof?

Regardless, they probably are making such a profit because Ford is using 1970s technology and over charging police forces.

They make that much because people are willing to pay that much, and the development and tooling costs were paid for long ago. They only have to spend a little every few years to freshen the designs.
