again.. all the magazines and signs have been pointing towards the 05 MR coming..

I bet at this point it's a waiting to announce situation between SUbaru and Mitsubishi. Mitsu doesn't want to announce it if Subaru has potential plans to release a Spec C variant of the STi here which improves upon it's handling and then have the MR appear. It's a marketing game. They want to announce last so it sticks in peoples minds. But if they are going to have the MRs show up here in the US this year June/Julyish. They want a 6week lead time, so I'd guesstimate and announcement around the End of April.. We'll see. The MR Money pile is just growing in the mean time..

I doubt either of the companies will bring them over, they need to earn more money from selling sedans and what not before we get 35K+ street legal rally cars .

The WR1 would certainly prod Mitsu a little hmmmm.. WR1s.. MRs.. It only gets better for us... When will Ford get the AWD Turbo Focus here and maybe some Citreons and Peugots... Oh well at least even things like the RS6s and S60R are getting here..

I read a couple of reviews for the S60R in Evo/Car magazine. I think the consensus is that the car is sporty, but not quite on the level of the RS6, the rally cars, or the M cars for that matter. Volvo's still got some ways to work on their suspension and handling. The power is there, just gotta harness it.

For the price though, it's one hell of a cool car. I love the way it has that cover over the shifter, very sleek and sporty to me. The overall look of the car is just plain awesome.

My buddy got one of the first S60Rs in the area. He's already got it chipped (chip came from Sweden) and exhaust ready to go on. The chip alone was a noticeable gain (I forget the dyno gain but it was enough that simply seat-of-the-pants I could tell how much harder it pulled).

So you mean Mitsu would actually release a variant of Evo with the proper model year (05) this year? That in-and-of-itself would be interesting!

We can only hope Mitsu realized their huge mistake and just plain dumb move to write on the paper for the government "2003".. when they should have written2004 like Subaru did with the STi which both showed up pretty much at the near exact same time..
Oh well hopefully someone got fired or promoted or whatever big corporations do for lame brained decisions..

some interesting new info on the MR ..

It uses the 'older' evo 6 turbo.. with a 10.5 cm2 housing instead of the 9.8 cm2

It runs dual solenoid compared to the current single solenoid ..

it uses a different BOV that's made of aluminium instead of plastic ..

The cat is a hi flow cat that has less(?) material/honeycomb

Seats are Red Recaro wordings with nicer fabric/suede..

sacrifices some initial low end for mid to hi rpm punch .. 280ps is achieved around 5600rpms and sustained thru 7000rpms ..

Amen if brings the MR... It would definitely be mucho respect.

And i'll be the first in line to pick one up, even if it approaches 40k.

It would be a win-win situation... by all acounts they'd win the performance battle with Subaru... and have several performance iterations of the Evo for all wallet and enthusiast sizes... kinda how they sell the Evo in Europe in different variants .

Here's hoping hears us all... think if people are willing to drop 3gs on upgrades, I think they'd be willing to do the same, if not more if waranty covered.

g

And speaking of hearing us... was wondering if we could through this forum give MITSU shouts and let them know we're behind them, both financially and spiritually... I think it would be a boost for them during these tough times, instead of all our constant complaining. Moderators?
