no wonder you don't agree. The AYC wasn't introduced in the VII. With that logic, your evo also not a true evo right? Since your engine is doesnt even face the right way compere to the first gen, but the 4B11T does... for starters....

 

I believe what he was trying to say is that the first non watered down evo to be brought here is the X. And having owned an 8 and now a X I can say they are both Evolutions despite what the narrow minded say or think.

Alot of you all spent the first few years of the evos intro to America complaining about the interior and loudness and lack of luxury in a $30,000 car. Mitsu heard the whining and made the X now you all are still complaining and not calling it an Evolution. It's flat out retarded.

You make some good points about the Eclipse. Nevertheless, all of this speculation about what the next Evo will or won't be is exactly that... Speculation! None of us really know and we won't know until probably late 2012 or early 2013 what the next Evo is really going to be. I do agree with you on the direction things seem to be headed... it's not looking good with all of this electric hybrid talk. I'm not saying that they can't make a fun high perfomance car that's an electric hybrid but one of things that's so great about the Evo, especially the 8 and 9, is how tuner and mod friendly they are. I don't see that being possible if they decide to go the electric hybrid route but you never know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

 

With the eclipse you have to put into mind that 3 years later the Evo was going to come out. Now would Mitsubishi want a 4G63, AWD car that cost around 23k compared to a Evo at 33+k? What would people buy? They had to dumb down the eclipse in order to push the evo.
