It will be the last "Lancer" EVO but I guess there will be an Evo on another platform.

Because dealerships always have correct information about future product plans.

Subaru also announced that they're discontinuing the STI following Mitsubishi. 2012 will mark the start of mainstream full electric vehicles!

The plant that makes Gallants is being devoted to a different platform as a whole. The Gallant and Eclipse will soon be no more aswell.

Dealerships are some of the worst sources for information regarding future anything.

agreed! Just yesterday, a dealership told me they only get 10-15 evo's a year so they're rare. They will also tell you other colors get sold quick and that it will be hard to acquire. This is all done so they can get their current cars off the lot.

I think it's quite possible that X will be the last. Mitsubishi have been generating a new model of evo on average every 2 years since 1992 and now the X has been out for about 4 years and I haven't heard anything official about an XI coming out. If there is some credible information somewhere can you post a link, I'd be very interested in seeing it.

it wouldn't matter what year of evo you get, dealerships are correct about cars because they talk to high end corporations. The reason why these corporations do this is because they know you want the car bad... cmon biggest talk is the evolution model car since the evo 7 came out. They stop making these cars so you will buy them and of course old parts break, and its time for new ones. They will jack up the prices for parts so you will spend more making the company more profitable. But then again as the years go by their will be less evos due to retard teens crashing them causing inflation on evos and then they will loose their popularity due to high prices like the supra/skyline or there will be a new model that is superb to the evolution.

Absolutely. Any rumor that comes from a dealership is useless. Even more so if the rumor somehow provides extra incentive to purchase an Evo X from them right now and not wait for the next generation Evo. Definitely not worth repeating on the forums.
