I have to wait 2 months to build and ship so delivery should be in July so I think it's possible it could be true. I know dealers lie but why would he lie to me after I bought the car.

the dealer told you that it would take only 2 months to build the car and ship it? that's incredibly fast for a factory order. i work for a SUBARU dealership and when someone orders an impreza WRX we tell them it usually takes 6 months!

Thats why mitsubishi is better than subaru . But yea I'm a bit skeptical myself, I placed the order a couple days ago and wont get an exact date till later in the order. I've done some searching and it seems that 2 months is about average for most people who ordered their car.

What exactly is a factory order? There are such little options with this car that it doesn't seem like one would be needed.

Do they give you the option to make it anyway you want? I know I asked VW about this, and they said it is possible to build a custom car.. in that I could order a base model GTi with nothing added on except for HIDs.. I would love to do the same with an Evo.

I ordered a 2012 with the SS and SL packages. No cars were near by that were the color or options packages I wanted. I basically came down to the fact that I didnt want to pay for transportation of a car at another dealership in another state. I'd rather wait and save some money. Plus the dealership gave me a great deal on the order.

I ordered my '12 and it took about 5 months from order-to-dealership. Worth the wait though cause now I have the color and options I want

It is actually a very good strategy for automobile manufacturers to continually run the same model years after years for their halo car, if they are in financial troubles.

During their troubles because of 1973 oil crisis, GM ran their C3 Corvette for 15 years straight with minimal changes (1968-1982). At the time it was ridiculed, but now we consider it as a good strategy.

Alternative strategies include discontinuing the model (like Toyota discontinued Supra Mk. IV and turned itself into a joyless, boring brand) or going to a different direction, hoping to volume-sell an economy-oriented model under the halo car's name (like 4G Pontiac GTO, killing not only GTO's name, but the brand altogether).

In conclusion, to maneuver itself through the dark times, Mitsubishi Motor should rather keep making the current generation Evo's for years and years until their mass market family car and SUV sales start to generation enough cash inflow.

Made that **** sexy as hell in the front. Maybe they will do a facelift for the 2013s, the last of the gas powered Evos.

Mine has a front mount intercooler and different headlights though.
{off topic}But, Moar pictures of this please.

God Mitsu has always failed in the hatch department... Look at the evo 9 hatches in Europe... Hope they put some more time into styling the rear of the car

Sounds like they're looking to make the evo more utilitarian for families. May not be a bad move for "dad had to give up his hot rod" sales but, not so good for true enthusiasts. Just my $.02

I was about to purchase 2012 GSR on Saturday. I called Mitsubishi of America and asked whether there will be a 2013 model. The lady on the phone said and i quote
"The 2013 Evolution will be available in dealerships starting from July/August"

I ordered my Evo back in March and it was finally built last week (5/22). It's supposed to arrive in July. Anyone have a line off date for the 13's? I don't even know what year Evo I'll be getting at this point.
