2013 Evolution?
Not 100% confirmed yet (at least not by Mitsu) but yes, whatever's left of 2011 and the 2012 inventory is selling like hot-cake...
Evo X Sales are up a whooping 47% from last year's April sales numbers. I went to the stealership last monday and 3 customers were inquiring about 3 different Evos when I walked in...

When I bought my 2012 the dealership told me this was the last year. Ofcourse they may be full of it and may not know what they are talking about or just saying whatever they can to get me to purchase.
I am thinking that if they release a 2013 it will be like the 2012 Eclipse. Meaning there will be very few available and the release of a 2013 will be to get rid of the 2012's they didnt sale and use up whatever parts were left. This is probably why Mitsu hasn't announced if there will be a 2013 or not. They themselves probably don't know yet.
But the sales of the Evo has increased alot lately. If you are wanting an Evo (especially new), you may want to pull that trigger and get you one before it is to late.
LOL!
But seriously though... Sep/Oct is '13 release date for most Mitsus... we'll see if a '13 Evo X comes by then... I'd be safe to assume so. Hybrid Evo XI is still under wraps till 2014
Hope the Mayans were wrong

I actually want to get myself on the final year EVO X. Was in conversation with a sales guy and he told me 2012 was the last year for the EVO X. It was an all cash buy and I told him that if I got a 2012 EVO X and a 2013 EVO X came out I would be really upset. I asked him to put it in writing that 2012 model was the last model year and he wouldn't do it. So it tells me 1 of 2 things, either he is not really sure that 2012 model is the last year, or there will be a 2013.
Given the fact that Mitsubishi has announced that the XI will come out in 2014, I suppose it is safe to assume that there will be a 2013 X model. And boy, is Mitsubishi ever milking the X out for all its worth. That will be 5 years without any styling or powertrain changes. I bought my 2011 somewhat foolishly, as I was led to believe right here on this forum that there would be no 2012 model. Even the dealer was not sure. Last August, I had to search far and wide throughout the US to find an OB GSR. Now, there are 3 where I live and the price is almost the same that I paid for my 2011. Given the glut of them on Auto Trader, I can't see them holding their value as well as the XIII/IX. So, I am not sure having a 2013 model will guarantee any great investment down the road.
I really think it's going to be just like the Eclipse was. If there are left over 2012's....meaning Mitsu did not sale them to a dealership, then there will be a 2013. Mitsu did this with the Eclipse. The 2012 Eclipse's were just 2011's that Mitsu had left over. They slapped a 2012 badge on it and sold it to dealerships. Thats why a 2012 Eclipse was hard to find compared to the 2011.
I think if the Evo sales continue to increase the way they have and Mitsu sales its inventory then there wont be a 2013. If Mitsu has 2012's left over that didnt get sold to dealerships then we will have 2013's. This also explains why Mitsu hasnt announced anything yet. They are waiting to find out as well. Either way I would say 2012 is the last year or if there is a 2013 they will be harder to locate in comparison to the 2012. I wasnt going to wait for a possible 2013 and a possible increased price (supply and demand) so I picked up a 2012 while they are available

it's funny I picked up my gsr yesterday and I was the 1st customer in the morning and was there till 4pm only seeing 2 other walk ins.
i looked at how i needed a car asap and the evo was 1 of the few cars that held value down in so cal. i've seen evo 9 sell for $25k here. anyways it's all guess work right now if there will be a new model that soon. i'm sure mitsu and subaru are trying to devise their plan of attack.
