Evo MR write up in Road & Track
I believe it all with the exception of the 300 lb weight saving. Say the wheels are 5 lbs lighter = 20 pounds. There's no way the steel roof weighs 280. Maybe they are comparing to a sunroof equipped model, even so 300 pounds seems like a lot - especially when they are adding new hardware in other places.

i'm not talking about how much money it'll cost or how much time you'll spend on replacing the stock with the aluminum roof. i'm talking about SAVING that 10-15lbs on the roof is a minor upgrade (performace wise). there's no doubt that the lighter bodied, 6 speed will enable the mr to higher top end speed, faster accleration, and that it'll handle better when compared with a stock evo. my point is that ALL THESE upgrades on the mr are considered to be MINOR performance upgrades. an stock evo can compensate these upgrades by using aftermarket parts.

did you EVER DRIVE a type-R?
I own an ITR before I bought my evo and I took my ITR to the track more than 30 times.......and I can tell you the different between GSR and ITR is DAY and NIGHT !!!
on the track with two equal driver...the GSR may never keep up with the ITR.

yes, i've driven a type-r. the car is faster and handles better then my gsr, but it's still an integra. i've never taken it to the race track though. who would want to track a type r if they had something better?

Honda actually built the R from a normal GSR on their test track.....why would I don't take the Type-R to the track IF the car was original built with Track ability in mind from the factory!!
.....sorry about the OT, I just want to point out some car like type-r, M, AMG, Nismo, and MR are all having the same meaning behind...and somehow if the car is not seeing the track, it's very hard for the driver to tell what is the different between them and their normal version.
I don't mean to be ignorant and not read through the whole thread, but I'm too tired to and my eyes hurt. Is there any indication and or reason i should beleive that the mr is coming to us shores anytime soon?

well, wouldn't it be "COOLER" if can tell people that your entire car is aluminum (nsx)?
