Given the fact that he is busting on the inside means he already knows the MR won.

How long until the embargo is over, Neil?

Maybe SCC can get involved and paint an MR in some grill paint.

*HANDS BLEEDING FROM APPLAUSE*
Why? There is more to the argument of bank for your buck here than what meets the eye!

It is about the PACKAGE not just the performance items..

The valid point of wanting more than just cosmetic items I understand somewhat..

But since we already own the EVO 8, why trade up?? We can throw less money at our current cars and get potentially better performance than the new MR.

Have you any idea how much it will cost to update??! This new "MR" should have ALL the **** or it makes no sense..(read: LOADED with both cosmetic and performance enhancements that will set it apart from the current model)

Maybe I am too precise in my desire to have the pure, unadulterated, raw and improved "MR" that was announced to arrive a few months ago.

I'm bummed because in the low 30's, "that" MR had a lot more going for it than "this" MR..(the announced trim model)

Good news - that will seal the deal for me!

That warranty is a nice perk..agreed.

The tuners won't care, but others will.

For sure.
I'm keeping my Sentra as my track car, and the MR will be my daily driver - stock, reliable and warrantied!

Turbo - Ron, no offense intended, I have a genuine curiosity about this. Why would you choose a slow car for the track and a fast car for daily driving? Thanks.

My Sentra trophied - 2nd out of 13 cars in Solo II SM class, last Sunday.

AND I kid you not - I was running on some crappy 300 tread wear tires and in need of a proper alignment. With no sway bars or camber.
This car can run alot better still if I correct the above and get some real slicks.

But it already has significant mods that make it fairly stiff and loud on the streets. Its actually alot of fun to be a giant killer with the little under dog. Overall place was 48 out of 129 cars and many vettes, stangs, and porsches fall victim

When I was at the track a few weeks ago, a guy rolled his impreza and another guy slammed his new rx-8 into the wall. It would be rough losing your new car in a day and still have to make payments.

Thanks. From my perspective, I prefer to use my daily driver closer to it's potential, daily, while saving stratospheric capabilities for the track where it's safer. I still don't agree with having a more capable car greatly under utilized on public roads and a less capable car completely utilized in a controlled safe venue. But thank you for the insight.

Too Cold Scopio, what kind of event was this and what track?

Look at how the Integra and Sentra fared at the SCC Time Attack. If you can get that kind of performance out of a Sentra, then why not? The ultimate sleeper, IMHO..

insurance will cover it as long as it wasn't a timed/competitive event. hot lapping falls under the "test and tune" catgory, which is permitted under most insurance policies.

Not all insurance will. I have Safeco, and they were explicit in stating that anything I do on a track is NOT cvered in any way. I am getting a supplemental policy from American Collectors.

It was at Waterford Hills race track in Michigan
It was open track day I was watching my boss race his GTO. Most insurances would not cover that cause it was at the track. It was cool though there was a red evo tearing everyone
up. It was crazy though when Iwe were walking all we seen is this impreza eolling over 3 times into this swamp haha.

ymmv, but i checked with mine and they'd said they'd cover me at the track as long as it wasn't timed or competitive. other people who wrecked at the track have been covered.
