Anyone seen how evo's react to new BOV

Hey I am awaiting a 2005 grey MR and I was a little dissapointed about the fact that we still get the plastic BOV. So immediately I am already thinking of replacing it with a metal one such as a greddy Type-S. I am just wondering if anyone had upgraded the BOV on a 04 EVO VIII and had problems or anything. Some cars react wierd to new BOV's and I just want to make sure that the evo's dont.

Even with a revirc kit you will notice some itle stumbling, but it's minimal. The sound is Awesome, but most importantly no boost will leak at all, and you will notice more boost in the upper RPM range!

if you search around there's a lot of "problem" threads with VTA dump valves. Stalling problems with VTA are not uncommon.

The MR uses metal BOV. Perhaps it's a prototype version? We'll find out for sure. I hope Mitsubishi isn't that cheap

Just get the better EVO MR metal BOV and be done with it. Gruppe-S has them for right around $120.

Agreed. However, if you want an aftermarket one with show and function and money is no object, get the HKS SSQ BOV with the recirc kit. If you want to VTA, save the money on the recirc kit and purchase the HKS EIDS.
