I wouldnt buy a used PFC for an MR just yet. Will the transmission and ACD changes be controlled? I think not.

acording to apexi the power fc for the evo 8 is specific to american models. its programed with that in mind and does not carry full hardware(pins, etc.) and programming needed to run active ecu controlled diffs (ie. the ecu controlls diffs and without an ecu that doesnt control them, how will they opperate?). you would need a jdm power fc setup or send an american spec model power fc in to be rework...if they even do such a thing. there has not been any testing with the evo mr's up to this date.

"absolutly noone has done testing on it for the mr" -this is what an apexi rep told me when i asked for my dad's mr. apexi said themselves the mr power fc will likely have the same part number as a jdm, or european evo. if your into just putting an pfc on and seeing if it works... id try the jdm pfc if anything (for the evo 8).

when you install it the car might actually start, but do you want to risk your spanking new mr by installing an untested part???. your not going to have acd. id be interested to see what the car drives like without it . if would be a good, but costly experiment. remember its a completly different tranny than the regular evo.

That's a steal. His price is well below cost in the US, but good luck finding someone to tune it. Apex hasn't been very supportive of the US market. Let us know how it works.

It sound like you have an older version. The newer ones kick on the fan at 85. You can send it back to Apex and have them update it if you like. Apex claimed there would be no issues with the higher temp fan setting, but I sent mine in anyway.
