1 Quick Q

I recently bought a used UTEC with remote map switch. The previous owner wired some quick connects on the switch and I do not have any instructions. Right now there are 8 wires coming off the switch. Although it looks like I only need to use 2 (green white). I assume that there was originally a male 12 pin molex connector attatched to the switch but this is now gone. The manual shows 3 pins for switches but I am not sure if any of these refer to the map switch or auxiliary switches. Any ideas?

The map selector switch is a BCD (binary coded decimal) switch, which means each connector on the switch represents a bit..

0000
0001
0010
0011
0100
0101
0111
1000

Or something to that effect..

If you look at the molex connector in the documentation for the UTEC, it shows MAP Selector switch 0, 1, 2, 3, or something like that, it shows the pins that represent it. Unfortunately I don't recall the wiring, but I did get the correct switches and molex connectors at one point and make my own.

THe remaining wires were to the brake switch for the launch control feature, but the EVO UTEC doesn't use them and doesn't need to be connected.

Thanks Jack, but the documentation does not show the orientation of the pins for the map selector switch. Hence the problem.

Thats weird, my documentation showed the pinouts on the molex connectors.. I think the wires on the switch are usually right to left..

Thanks again Jack for looking into this for me. The documentation that I have (p54) shows pin 6, 11, and 12 being for switches. But I do not know which are for the map selector. I assume one is for a aux. switch, but you know what they say about assumptions.

Anything that mentions switch should be for the MAP selector switch.. there should be two others for Aux Solenoid (or something like that) and 3 more for Shift light (or something like RPM activated output) and then the last would be clutch switch (which doesnt need to be connected to anything)

We can meet up one day and just compare the wiring if you cant resolve it. I know I have a bunch of these molex connectors, pins and switches laying around.. I just can't figure out what happened to them.
