a real newbie help!!!

Hey all,
Just purchased a an 03 evo from mitu dealer already with after market part installed from the dealer ( not straight from manufactuer ). Anyway, it has a SAFC 2 on it. My friend play with it clicked on initialized all and returned it to factory setting. I've been doing research and trying to do initial setup, which i think i am successful (CEL doesn't come on anymore). The problem is everytime i am in new neutrul or press the clutch in, the car's rpm goes so low that it stalls. Also, ocasionally, I hear like a thump noise, coming under the passenger side seat....not a backfire, but seems to be coming from the converter. Anyone knows what the hell is going on? Can the SAFC 2 really caused this much problem when not setup right? Can anyone give me a base stock setting? BTW not a car tekkie, I don't even know what the SAFC 2 does..

stock turbo

If I were you I'd do a lot more research before you start messin with it.

If possible, return your car to stock form, and see if it gets rid of the problems.

Eliminate one possibility at a time.

Good luck!

You really need to get that car to a respectable shop and see what's in it.

Larry is 100% right. You could have larger injectors. You could have a POS flash. You could have blinker fluid leaking into your cat. The point is, you just don't know with a modded car.

Find a good local shop. Limp the thing in there or have it towed. But get it taken car of before you lean the thing out and do some real damage.

Lesson #1

I've seen some people blow their spark plug coolant levels with improper tuning. You really need to be careful with an SAFC II, but not an SAFC I - those things couldn't hurt a fly.
