Alky support roll call - features

Ok, this is the thread to see the demand to support at least the SMC alky kit.

My thoughts on this:

What I would like to see is a new tab that would have fuel/timing offsets from the current "pump gas" map. It would only be applied to the WOT portion of the map, I don't see a need to have it across the board. So for example, -20% fuel @ 5k for pump gas and add -10% fuel on alky tab = -30% fuel applied. That should make for easy non-confusing adjustments.

Beyond that, future support could include alky boost control on the same tab.

Lets hear what everyone else would like to see.

Yes. And the fallback option when "low" alcohol is triggered.

It would follow the AEM "instructions", basically it would only apply the alky map when it saw the pump was operating and had pressure. It's more of a safety feature then actual control.

Actual control would require the silver box and probably 10x the amount of code. Though Tom would be the only one that would know if it would be possible.

It would still require the current SMC controller, same as the AEM setup does. This would make it potentially compatible with both the black box and silver box versions.

For reference this is the AEM how-to created by GTVEVO https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=151383

I would love to see that -- but I have the Coolingmist system. And I have the black box ...so unless there is going to be some new firmware...i guess i'm out

It might be possible with the Cooling mist setup, I guess it depends on whether the system lights a LED when it's spraying. Let me look around and see if I can't find anything. This is still in the begining stages.

Yea - it seems like there's two schools of thought. The first is to have the ECU+ modify the maps when a trigger says that alchohol is flowing. The second is to have the ECU+ actually *be* the controller and to run the system.

For the latter option, it's hard to say whether that's possible. Anybody have a description of how the controller works, and what (specifically) it controls? Does it just turn on a relay when some combination of RPM, TPS and boost shows up?

I think that second option is too broad. We have many different ALKY injections systems. I for one have the cooling mist system as well. I'm ALL for some ALKY compatibility but I dont think it should be ONE BRAND specific.

I prefer the trigger option .. as not all the guys run the same alky setup ..

my gauge is wired to output a simple voltage out (can't remember if its a pull to ground type) to indicate good flow .. so I can hook that up to the ecu+ and activate the alky map ..

seems like most of the alky setups have similar outputs too

I would like alky support as well, I haven't purchased a kit as of yet though.

I know this is an old thread but any updates on Alky support. I'm looking into a alky kit by summers end, and would like to know if there are any updates to this.
