The stock 05 evo build has begun
hey mellon, that's my old evo!!! I'm still in shock that i've finally found it.
Traded it in at the infiniti dealer back in '06 with 12,500miles with a worn out clutch. It had a jestrtune, mcculloch hid kit, h&r springs, painted heads/tails, autometer boost gauge, cf lip, bad stock tires..etc. wow oh wow, i'm so happy it's got a good home!

you must have beat that car before trading it in.. Mellon- Did you find the culprit of the loss in power? Have you tuned it on pump gas again since the E85?

no and no I haven't...soon maybe.
wow, the kids at the dealer must've beat on it really good then. I didnt beat on it much. I actually wasnt even planning on trading it in until i got there. I know the clutch was bad but it only slipped in 3rd and 4th gear. It drove fine unless you got on it. Then it would just slip then catch back. Cant believe one of the cylinders were dead, maybe it was the ****ty tune?

yeah it was a mess mechanically but otherwise super clean, I HAD to have it! so I didn't care about everything else. It still went low 11's on the hurt motor before I put the buschur beast in.

hit the track last night, couldn't find a shred of traction for several runs and finally got some traction but lost a boost hose, then flat ran out of e85 and had to call it a night. I might try again later this week or next:
best 60' 1.61 (then lost a hose)
best e.t. 10.44 several of these
best mph 139.80 several of these
btw, this was lifting to shift, I was powershifting when I went 135mph on 93 octane last fall when it was much colder.
temp was 77* but 80% humidity last night.

seem to be hitting a wall at 700awhp, suspecting the stock mas flow limitation may have been found finally. Increasing boost from 38psi to 44psi yielded a massive 60tq (540 to 600) but only 15hp at high rpm. Thinking about doing the speed density conversion with the stock ecu to remove the mas and do a 4" intake pipe.
I want to hit the track on the 11th first though and see if I can get into the 9's anyway.
