very new to this

i wanted to have 2 separate maps for my car, my aggresvie mail in tune, and a normal less aggresive tune. my question is where can i find a rom for an o5 evo 8 with tbe drop in and fuel pump 21 psi. or is that not safe to use some rom. i dont have nearly the tuning ability to change my tune to make it less agressive. also does mitsulogger show what my afr is? lol thanks in advance

You shouldn't just download a tune off the internet, it could seriously damage your car. Every car reacts differently to mods so its best to get a custom tune by one of the vendors here based on your mods.

You could get an Email flash, which would require you to have a tacrix cable and a laptop. This is useful if you dont live near a tuning shop.

Or if you live close enough to a tuning shop you could hit their dyno and get a custom flash.

as for mitsulogger showing your a/f, no it will not unless you get a wideband. You should really get one, it is the most important tuning tool you could have.

Allright sounds good, I guess I will have to purchase a separte map if I want to do it that way, even tho I'm already tuned , and damni was hoping mitsulogger showed AF, I do want a wideband but its too expenvie, thanks 4 the help

When some one says "wideband", they are refering to a WideBand 02 sensor.
You can do a search and learn all about the different companys that put them out.

There is a "narrow band" as well, But it typicly isant used in automotive applications.

My honda CBR 600 had a narrow band.

Basically, the stock O2 sensor on our cars is a 1v sensor. A "wideband" sensor is 5v and has much higher resolution and therefore more accurate to tune from. It is simply used to view or log an accurate air:fuel mixture reading.

Thanx that actuallu kinda makes sense to me. I guess im gonna look around in the threads to learn more about it.

Now 1 question i do have is.....Im gonna go and get a tune for my car prettysoon, Some guy told me that anything before the throttle body needs a tune other than that u dont really need a tune for boltons such as exhaust and such. what is ur say on this one? Also for the tune do i need to buy anything and take it to the tuner.

BTW which is a better tune a street flash tune or a dyno tune. Cuz theres this guy comin to my side of the town whos good at tuning. I was thinkin should i get a tune from him?? All i got so far in my car is UIC, LIC piping and intake all by injen. and im about to get exhaust soon. But does it really matter should i wait for the exhaust or just get a tune right now without exhaust? does the car need to be tuned after exhaust boltons....thats one of my mail questions......thanx in advance dude...and also other ppl who might wanna say a word about this....

I'm not sure about the street tune vs. dyno tune, I'm sure both have benefits. I think the dyno tune is easier because the dynojet can maintain a load at any RPM and give the tuner time to see the logs.

I think most people will agree that you should try to get tuned after major upgrades. Basically, by adding the parts you (hopefully) have improved flow efficiency reducing the pressure drop on the compressor, therefor the engine will be getting more air, but the ECU isn't optimized for it. The same goes for the exhaust because you just made it easier for the turbo to spool (reducing backpressure). So yes. The car is probably going to be fine because of the protections within the factory tune, but the parts you just bought won't be making the difference that you really want unless you tune it.

Wait for the exhaust. I noticed that my AFRs shifted lean around 5000 to 6000 after I installed a catback on my car. It doesn't matter if the mods are before or after the TB ... it can still affect your tune.

I tend to think that a road tune is the best method for a reliable tune. A dyno can't really simulate hills and other things you encounter on the streets. They are good for making the most power, but that power might not be very reliable on the street. This of course depends on the dyno and the tuner.
