I have a 05 Evo that I'm trying to get tuned but am having a hell of a time trying to unlock the ECU. I've taken my car to Chad at Modified by KC but he doesn't know what program locked the ECU. I've emailed COBB tuning and they were no help. I am in desperate need of a tune because of the current mods, I would like to come back to the U.S. with a running EVO.

If their are any tuners on here that can unlock the ECU or any ECUtek tuners please help me out. I had a WRX with a ECUtek tune and was having the same problems I'm having right now. I need this ECU unlocked so I can tune the car ASAP. Not sure if it is ECUtek that is locking it but they are the only company I know of that locks the ECU. Also does anyone know is Mitsubishi can unlock the ECU, subaru couldn't with my WRX so don't feel like wasting my time if they can't.

 

you need a piece of software called "ECU unlocker".

you can download it off MalibuJack's website: aktivematrix.com

you may need register for download.

 

My car was the same way when I bought it. I had to use the Unlocker from MalibuJacks site.

Did it say what program was locking the ECU, we couldn't figure it out when we tried to unlock it.

 

Did you go to the website and register? I guarantee you it will work.

The newest version of ecuflash can unlock any ecu with a FOFO init code
