So i got the program to log my evo but i cannot read or write to the rom, it says error usb cable disconnected or in use

 

Is Evoscan running while you try to write to ecu via Ecuflash? if so, disable Evoscan and then write.

 

i am trying to read the ecu with evoscan i dont have ecuflash

 

evoscan is a data logger. you can only read the ECU when you have the live graphing turned on.
ECUFlash is the tool you need to modify the rom.

another possibility is that your ECU is "locked" with a scrabbled ECU ID, and you will have to locate the unlocker tool to clear this up before being able to read the ecu properly

 

how would i just turn the live graphing off so i can read write with evo scan?

 

so i downloaded ecuflash and i tried to read my ecu and it came back with no response to any known code and closed the interface? i know we can get into the ecu my tuner does all the time using the same software what am i doing wrong?

 

you need to run the ecu unlocker first in the back ground then open ecuflash and read from ur ecu

 

I'm a noob to data logging and tuning. Which cable do you have? I have the same problem bc I bought the tactrix opensource 1.3r cable. It says for reading and writing but it doesn't. It also has the extra wire with connector to flash ecu.

Also, my evoscan has a button that says write to ecu. Why? If it doesn't have the capability then why is it there?

Did you ever figure out the problem? I’m having the same problem now, I have the openport 2.0 from Amazon, and a Mitsubishi ECU reflash cable jack. I 1000% ensured the male ECU socket pin was making contact with the male Mitsubishi reflash connector. When I press read ECU on evo scan, it says it has an issue with USB or something.

My car has been tuned by boostin performance in the past around 2012.

The openport 2.0 worked completely fine on my friends car when he tuned it.
