Some "import shop" told you to upgrade parts before correcting problems!? I would never take the car back there again.
Try this place insted;

RRE is a legit shop. I've never had them diagnose a problem for me, but I did have my timing belt done there. They gave me a quote, did the work, and didn't come back with BS; "Oh you need this, that, and the other." I'm guessing they will have to charge you for putting the car on the lift and for the time to go through the car, but will probably apply that to any further work they do. Give them a call or you can post your questions here too;

I have been getting my parts and fluids from them for over 10 years and just about every Evo and DSM that's rolling in Southern California has been there at one time or another. They know what they are doing.
