Reverting to stock from AEM v1

A while back I got a stock ecu and MAF for my evo. My car came with the AEM EMS v1 and after some time of trying to get the start nailed down so it would reliably start when it was 20* outside, I got fed up with it and put my stock stuff back on.
We were never able to get it to even try to fire. it would crank and crank, didn't seem like the fuel pump ever primed. It worked just fine on the AEM (when it started) but wouldnt do anything on the stock ecu and MAF.
There were no boost leaks, I used the stock MAF and ECU, swapped out the stock MAP sensor.
Any ideas for other things to check on?
I want to revisit this because winter is coming and as soon as I get the control arms and timing belt changed out I want to drive it a couple times a week to work to keep it functioning but I'm not going to deal with it not starting any time I want to drive it.

Is the Crank angle sensor replaced with a trigger disc?

Are your immobilizer settings set correctly for your ROM ID? Ensure you have the correct values in the map you are using.

I set that to "0" since I don't have the hex for my key. I read that 0 was supposed to turn the immobilizer off.
Is there some other setting for that?

Yes if you have the incorrect hex values the car won't start either way. If you load tephramod v7 there is a universal rom that works on all 8's IIRC. I can link you the thread if you can't find it.

so this doesn't work?
The FAA bits is what I was referring to. It's been a while since I tried this so forgive my lack of vocabulary.

I'm revisiting doing this, I've downloaded all of the roms I think will work for me and are speed density since I'm not really set up to be MAF.

How do I know what my ECU ROM currently is? It did not come from my car, bought it used. super new to Evo ECU modding.
I think I figured out putting the .xml file into the OpenECU/Ecuflash/rommetadata folder with all the other .xml files, then opening the .bin with Tephramod on it, just want to make sure I use the right one.
