Just got my Stage 2 in...well, almost.
Hey guys...my first post, although I have been lurking a while now. Anyway, I order the Stage 2 and what I got was the UTEC only with the Stage 1 map. What a pisser! Gonna have to make a call first thing Monday, I guess. The Stage 1 is not very indifferent to the stock MAP, in my opinion. The midrange seems to be a bit more "there" when needed and the boost doesn't nosedive near redline like the stock ECU MAP does. I've been reading the tuning manual and at this point I'm feeling like it's a bit over my head in the technical tuning area. I'm too afraid to touch any parameters, LOL! I will have to eventually because my 272 cams will be ariving this next week and I'm not sure what to do when that time arrives. Any advice? I feel like I need to go back to university to learn this stuff. Hopefully, I can make a few tuning buds here because I'm going to need the help.
This Evo stuff is sooooo different from the Mustang world where I originated. All but one or two of my Stang buddies have disowned me even though I still have two GT's! Now I know how I used to treat ricers! All I have to say is drive one of these damn cars and you WILL understand unless you want to stay in 1970's technology! Wow, these cars are incredible. Ten years ago, if that, you would have to spend over 100k to get this king of performance for the street.

Congrats on the switch over to the 4 cy world of motoring. I know what you mean by the disowned and the understanding. My brother-in-law has a 99 cobra, and he couldn't belive it when I told him about my evo. One drive in it, and now he thinks twice about lineing up against a 4 cy. As for the UTEC tune, check out the south region board here on the forum. Some of my fellow Evo-Speed members will be heading up to Austin on 07-31 for a tuning session. From what I have been told, there will be some knowledgable people there for UTEC tunes. From what I have been seeing here, I am a lurker too
, MalibuJack seems to be the one throwing around a lot of knowledge. I too have been reading up, as I am ordering my stage 2 kit on Monday. I will keep you all posted. Congrats again, and welcome.
