Updates

I just bought used Forge adj wastegate for $108 (nice deal). Now I need to buy at least 5lbs spring to replace its 17-21 lbs spring.. You guys know where I can get that? I can't find it on Forge web site.

So far I've spend $953.00, I still need to sell the stock evo 8 wastegate and O2 housing, so at least get the money from there.

Need to buy:
Oil line kit (cheapturbolines.com)
Boost and egt gauge
5lbs wastegate spring

For now, I'm looking at about 1500.00 to finish this.

updates..

okay I recieved my evo turbo manifold and like everybody says, it won't fit (well I knew that). Well I just called Rob from RRM and ask if they have any extra header flanges and no luck and they will have it in 2 months or so and I won't able to wait that long. (trying to finish before July 30, HIN Seattle). Any suggestions? Thinking about getting OBX Lancer header....

buy a mirage/lancer exhaust manifold and chop off the runners. i don't know anything about welding, but is there a problem with welding something onto something that is cast?

I have my stock Mirage header if you want to use that. The other alternative is plugging the existing holes and boring new ones. Either way, it will be a jerry-rig project.

Well it's cast, I will be having problem welding that to a mild steel. Sorry

Btw so Mirage header port will match 4g94 ?

Yes. You weld like materials, but there may be a technique for brazing the two materials together. All in all it's easier to just make a one-off of the same material and weld it on, or have it welded on.

Cool, I guess I'm going to buy the Mirage header from OBX. The least I have to worry about is the welding, I got some hook up.

P.S: I am almost ready to install this baby, I just need this turbo manifold to fit my engine and I will be ready.

Thanks

I would warn that most headers' runners go out and straight down. Unless the runners are very short or the collector is very short, your turbo's going to be sitting extremely low. Either that or you can try to join the runners higher up with a new collector, but I don't know if either solution is particularly good.

You talking about the evo manifold Well the runners aren't even short...

By the way, do you think 100 bucks for a custom flanges is fair enough?

No, I was talking about cannibalizing a Mirage manifold. I have no idea what flanges cost.
