We talked today. I was waiting for you to call back. Did you check what I told you to check? Better yet give us a call. It is hard enough for experts to diagnose over the phone nver mind non experts, excluding BOE, from diagnosing it over a forum. Call us back. Listen to BOE if he tells you something too.

I just don't get how the wastegate can POSSIBLY be opening without boost. It just doesn't make sense.

He is making 6 psi of boost according to his Blitz gauge. I was actually on the phone with him listening while he drove it. No sign of problem that I could hear.

Just a general question. If it is a leak post turbo, it should affect your horsepower that much, right?

Hitting 6psi and the wastegate opening means you must be making power...My mind is boggled. Even if you were DEAD lean, you'd still feel an increase in power.

If the waste gate has a bad seal would it affect hp? I really cant get to EVERY bolt; i have to pull my radiator out to get to all my exhaust bolts; im omw to pulling the bumper off right now. Ill be in and out to report my findings.

Ok just out of curiosity... there is one barbed output and one non barbed on the waste gate, which one should be up top with the hose?

Err scratch that; i just had some visual effects or something; they are both barbed =)

Ok well just got done; tightend every bolt i could reach; with the exception of the two on the back of the up pipe (turbo side). I did however change the position of the vaccume nozzle on the wastegate. What do carbon build ups look like? Will it be a white dusty look?

Anyway; reoiling (20w-50) and i dunno if i ll have time to test it b4 church but when i do ill report back!

I assume i have to re-prime the oil feed line?

Kelspar, when you are looking down on top of the engine bay, look at your wastegate. The very top barbed plug should be the one used for the vacuum lines to the turbo.

The carbon build up on your exhaust side should be black I believe, When you have exhaust leak, you should see black charcoal on some parts that have leaks. I suggest using copper gaskets on all.

The black oil on your car is not normal. It looks like you are over heating your engine. Does your temp go high on your engine temp gauge in the cluster??

OH yah, did you prime your oil feed line the first time? It should have given out oil in the plastic bag when you were turning over the ignition. I'm assuming you followed these instructions carefully? Also, make sure that the plugs on the spark plugs are all connected. If not you're only running two pistons!

Carbon is black. White is probably oxydized aluminum or overheated and dried coolant, depending upon its location.

Running on two pistons would explain the loss of power but then you would get a horrible sound from the engine. Kelspar you would also see a huge decrease in gas mileage.
