im getting a 4g93 ported mani. the runners are shorter and the ports are bigger than rrms 4g94. and im only speind half as much and i get to keep and sell my stock mani .

but my question is, will a ported throttle body do more harm than good on a turbo set up?

Besides the tuning factor, I don't see how a larger throttle body would hurt performance. You're getting air more efficiently through the intake tract which means more exhaust will spool the turbo more in turn.

I don't think a ported mani would make tuning harder...a twin throttle body would be harder to tune, but ported should be just as easy as stock, and you will definately get better gains.

So i have this turbo setup that i custom built and i finnaly managed to blow my motor. I was just accelerating on my was home. It was a pretty good acceleration and next thing i know i hear a pop and smoke. It had poped my oil stick. It was only boosting like 8 psi. I took the motor apart and it was a rod that snaped. So everyone the rods are not very strong on the motor!!
I decided to do 4g64 swap and iv already got the motor. My buddy was the first guy to do it in our car and hes guna help me.
So now im guna be a turbo 4g64 in a lancer haha.

Granted, people have known for quite some time the limits of the stock rods and pistons of the 4G94. People here are also daily driving 10-12psi turbo setups without issues because of proper tuning and no knock. I can only assume that this was the cause of your rod snapping. Sorry about your motor. Best of luck on your swap.

eeww, heat wrap. i dont think that was a good idea because it will keep in the heat and it tends to make the welds crack. remember you have a megan exhaust header/

+100000000

Its already an inevitability that the welds will crack on their own. No need to add fuel to the fire...

So what? Ceramic coating or back to the drawing board (different header)?

Different manifold. Evo guys have had cracking issues with megan racing manifolds from day one. Turbo Lancers will also begin to experience this. My old 16G6 setup utilized a megan racing manifold. It cracked in more places than I could count and pieces of the manifold runners began breaking off after the cracks were there. Not pretty.

ok so i still kinda want to get a new throttle body to go with my new g93 mani. ive been told that the g93 intake penium can be ported to 60mm so i may do that as well. so besides gettin rrms ported stocker what could i use? i think i read somewhere that you can use a tb off a 1g eclipse and they are 60mm, so that would work perfect for it if it would fit.
