back when the lancers were out for a while..there where people that would dyno in the 140s..which lead a lot of people including myself to believe that the lancer comes underrated from the factory. because my girlfriends 08 bone stock back then kept up with my old dodge avenger that was a 2.4L v6 with 172hp, neck and neck from a slight roll and that was a CVT

I really don't get the underrated claims, Mitsubishi has no reason to lie about the HP numbers.

Wouldn't you think that as a shop we would love to "claim" that we took a 127hp car and turned it into a 203hp car ? Trust me , his car dynoed at 148hp and thats what "we're" stating" !!! I understand that some places may like to claim huge gains but facts are facts and we only state facts so that if we ever get called out on anything we have actual REAL facts to back us up . His car put down 148 hp and we made 203hp with our kit , we will be back tuning in the next day or two !

are you guys running a fed spec lancer ?

reason why i as is the cdn fed spec put down 125 ish on the dyno , and if you dynod his lancer at 148 with intake n exhaust then i guess guys with those mods can expect somewhat the same gains?

Which dyno? The same dyno? A different dyno? There's no way he legitimately gained 20 WHP from an intake and exhaust.

What's the correction factor that is used for the dyno?
And what weight was used for the lancer?

Same dyno , Not the same day but like temps and done with Std correction ( 0 ) ...

Trust me if the car made 20hp less I would be first to make that claim -- it did NOT !

Ya i'm not sure about the mail-in flash idea cause wouldn't thing's like temperatures/humidity or elevation make a difference on how the tune would work with the engine??

again i'm new to all this stuff forgive my questions if they seem foolish

Do you guys have a 2.4L GTS to make a separate tune for? The 2.0L and 2.4L tune's would be different i assume

I think the best thing to do is stick with the % gain model.
things get way to confusing when comparing dyno results. Dyno Jet, Dyno Dynamics, Dynapack. calibrations etc.... its very confusing for the guy who is new to this sort of stuff.

That said. 50whp gain is still good very good

Well , the deal is when you do a mail-in flash or a pre-tuned piggie-back the car will have a very safe tune which would be pretty much 100% safe in all areas of the county and elsewhere . Normally these tunes will run in the 10.8 -10.5 range which will be very safe and more so when running 5-10 lbs of boost .

NOTE: The only foolish question is the one left un-asked ..... Feel free to ask legitimate questions as you just did
