03 lancer es Evo 8 build
hey when Im pushing around 8 psi, my car hesitates still, at first when its 5 psi it never did because i lowered the gap to 24... should I go lower in gap to prevent it from hestitating. Or is it the spark plug caps? I have the magancore so I really dont see the problem with them?
oh yeah last thing... dude I set the boost controller at the lowest point and the lowest point is like 7 psi...
saweeeet, bro ever since I got my tune good in my car, its a habit to boost, I try hard not to but I never did it before... I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

I would also get a new set of plugs before lowering the gap much more .22 is as low as i would personally go. You get too low and any carbon build up will immediately short the plug and shorter still and the cylinder wont even ignite because there is not enough heat.
If your still getting spark blow out its likely that the coils are just not powerful enough to provide adequate spark energy. I suppose you could research getting evo coils on it but do that as a last resort only
My boost controller does squat but bring it up the the max spring pressure lol. Thats why I went from 5 to 10 psi so quick was as soon as I hooked up my mbc even on the lowest setting I am at 10 so I just rolled with it and tuned from there
I would ditch magnacore wires for stock evos have nothing but issues with them.

dude if I decide to keep the car after january since im looking at evos, more than likely I would just get new coils, I will buy new plugs this week and see how it goes and if im still having problems I will just switch over like you said, I dont think there a direct swap do I just use 2 of them or can I use the all 4? becuase I could have a problem with the 2 stock ones I have that came with the car...

All the evo's i've seen boost 18-19psi then drop the boost around 4500rpm tapering down to 16psi. I think the evo x boosts to 20 and tapers as well.
