Yet another thread about Turboing a 03 lancer.
I gotta admit, there is nothing like modding a N/A car. Just when you think everything is dialed in and done, something pops up out of nowhere. I had Aaron @ English Racing switch me to Speed Density this last week and WOW what a huge difference in response and drivability. Then 30 miles into driving it I threw a p0172 code (bank 1 running rich). Car started freaking out on me instantly. Did a bunch of reading and research, thought it was a number of different things that could be wrong with it and was about ready to spend money on things I didnt even need...lol. Decided to swing by after work and had Aaron throw his PC up to it. Found out it was a little setting in map that was tweaked weird. Reset the correct ratio and once again all was good. I found out quick how easy one little value can throw the tune out of whack.

This is my thoughts now at this point. My only guess is that when I overboosted to 18 psi those couple times that it blew maybe the throttle body gasket or something, I have taken off my throttle body several times without replacing the gasket. I sealed off the entire intake tract from the turbo to the intake manifold and did a leak test with no issues but not sure how to test the intake manifold iteslf. I guess I could loosen the rocker arms for the intake side to close all the valves then run a test?
I don't think there are any leaks...Exhaust/Boost/Vacuum. Unless your seeing A/F readings that are way off from where they should be. If A/F is still reading correct, then its most likely another issue.

Still running stock internals yes, I have not done a compression test and probably wont as it drives fine runs good and starts to pull good until it cuts off at 9psi then just steady pull.
Leak down test helps to determine where compression is leaking from if you have low compression in a certain cylinder but would not help me in this case testing intake mani pressure.

Pulled off wastegate and even installed a bigger spring and bypassed MBC with no change in psi. Confirmed no boost leaks at least up to the intake. Debating loosening those rocker arms tomorrow and testing mani itself.
