maybe the high pressure blew out some weird part and created some vac leak.

Ryans car went boom on first e85 pull.....on pump it made 237.63/261.97 at 16lbs Car is going to be towed back to 03's house monday to tear it down and put my stock block back in till i can afford to rebuild....today was much more expensive then planed....English did a great job and are nice people but my wallet grew legs and ran the other way...Ill post some videos tonight or tomorrow. Pretty tired and honestly really pissed off right now with zulu and his motor. I did everything besides rebuild the block before we installed it at this point so there was obviously something wrong with it before it came to me. Mad as hell as im out $800 at least right now not to mention gaskets/03lances time/ my time/ etc.... /end rant....I had them also fix my IC piping and switch me over to a 9 bov since i had it...lets just say you guys might be jelous. Anyone wanna donate to the Ryans poor and bought a busted block that who knows what else damage happened at this point...

I also threw a rod threw a block about 6 months ago but it had a years worth of abuse and only blew because it hit 27psi !

Sucks bro sucks to hear i was also pissed when it happened to me ! Put the stock block back in there and get it retunned for 10psi and you will be happy with it !
Bad day overall ! I cracked the screen on my new phone !!!! Fkn pissed also !! lol Sorry had to rant !

Yeah it just upsets me ER only turned up the boost to 18. Never fails we both set the cameras down and didn't recored that pull.... Im just annoyed since claimed there was no problems with the block and it was making the knocking noise from the start. Thought it was in the head but nope...Still sounds higher up. They thought it was broke a rocker arm but pulled VC off and everything looked good, scoped the oil drains and down 2 of the spark plugs and they think metal shavings but it wasn't much. Wont know till we pull it apart in any case. Felt bad for 03 as I needed a ride home from him and then he has to turn around and drive home so turned into like 8hrs of driving today for him. I am excited to drive it in general even off boost just to see how SD goes. Soooo.....how much would you guys say to expect for a machine shop to do a block? ER was saying $700 in machine work alone...figure that + 1500 in new pistons/rings/rods/arp + assembly labor i might as well buy another lancer...

Sounds about right for a good machine shop . Why not just boost the stock block ?
Any noise should be checked right away and fixed before the car is power tuned .

Guessing spun bearing although still doesn't have that rod knock sound its more higher pitch higher up. Really sucks im fine with the drive and the work that's not a big deal. Just really sucks all the money that has been put into this thus far only to have this happen before it even came off the dyno ...

damn, sorry to hear that Ryan. That freaking sucks!!!!

I got a block in my basement that had the timing belt skip if you want it. I would definitely get a stock block and boost that for now. A complete long block can be found for about $200-$500.

dang, I def wanted to see what you did for numbers.
