Had a sweet Evo X show up to our meet last night, basically all stock with a couple minor things done. Tuned by E R @26psi ~350AWHP. Damn that really made me wanna go buy an Evo

Funny thing was he thought mine was an evo and was convinced I would smoke him in a race

How do you have enough room to just pull off the cold side? I'm not seeing much down there.

Not to hard really but you have to pull everything off of it like both oil lines and both coolant lines. J pipe and intake pipe and WGA. I also pull the top rad hose. Then unclamp the coldside and slip it out through the top.

Unfortunately that damn noise is still ****ing there. I was able to positively clock the turbo correctly and my spool issue is resolved finally. Pulls like a bat out of hell, I have it at 13 psi right now. This noise is not cool though.

Not nearly as much as taking the slim fans out and pulling rad then still have to take all that stuff off plus the mani and dp

Well going to continue trying to find that damn noise but decided im not going to baby my car anymore if it blows it blows. Pulled the valve cover off today and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Went out and did a few pulls and graphed it with VD. Best run I got today was 231whp and 252wtrq

no way is that real^ im running 12 psi and i dont think im putting over 200 down. or maybe i just feel like that.

what load and timing are you seing at wot im about 210-220 max around -1 timing

also what kind of timing are you running from 60-70-80-90-100 load at 3k...? i only get knock there sometimes it seems to be random but persistent :l

Well other than that noise causing a little false knock around 3k rpms I am knock free all the way. I will occasionally get a count of 3 sometimes. I don't think it's that far off I can smoke my buddies 240 dynoed tuned at 220hp and he knows how to drive. I am at 13psi seeing 2-3 degrees of timing at peak torque around 4500 rpms. I am actually debating either upping the timing a little more or bumping psi to 14. Ill probably up the boost. Honestly my other runs showed around 215hp and 235 trq roughly so im probably closer to that but it pulls reallllly good. I need to adjust fuel cause im going rich at about 3k as well dropping to like 10.8-10.9 when I should be at like 11.5 or so

Also seems like load is primarily calculated using airflow as a big chunk we were seeing well over 200 load in ryans car when it would hit 14 psi but the car was not pulling really at all.

is he running an evo maf?

so today i did a couple runs. timing at 220 and 4.5k was +2 so i got up to 9 counts of knock and logged timing at that load and RPM in evoscan was -1. so i adjusted down to 0 and i get up to 15 counts?! and logged timin in evoscan is -4! I am really lost now.

Did you smooth out everything around it to match the new timing? Also did you do multiple runs at each timing or just one each? I looked again at my VD maps and looks like I was a little off on my #'s. My best was 231whp and 252wtrq but the other two runs were 211whp and 244wtrq and 209whp and 245wtrq. The 4th run is a wash cause my tires started spinning so VD showed like 292whp and 313wtrq lol.

Didnu check the top of the valve cover and the side of the spark plug tubes for rubbing, it makes a knocking noise
