Yes I pulled the vc and no rubbing of any kind. Thoroughly checked it out. I have another theory now though. My j pipe blew off again lol I noticed there were scrape marks on the bottom of my dp so im wondering if it pushed it up closer to the oil pan causing the rattle. Going to loosen it up later and try to pull it down a little.

My exhaust guy did a great job on it I have not had an issue with it since install. I wish his welds looked a little nicer but oh well they are solid so thats the main thing. Didnt get a chance today to lift up the car and check the dp fitment. Definately will be doing this tomorrow I hope this is the issue.

So the downpipe was not moved at all and no rubbing there :-/. Im guessing I will have to do some deep diving into my car to find the noise. So I am putting it on the back burner for now as I am tired of looking for it and getting too frustrated so time to back off.

Decided to revise my fuel map. On the left was my old map which was more of a base lancer based map. My new one is more evo infuenced which really is what I should be running anyways. Hoping this will help my richness I am getting during spoolup.

mine looks pretty similar to that^^

i advanced my timing and smoothed it.. its somewhat random but sometimes i knock up to 12 counts while regularly accelerating but i will go and check the log and instead of hitting 8* like it is supposed to it was at -1* wth.

If u don't already make all your ignition high octane maps the same while your tuning to help eliminate those weird variables.

Meant high and low maps the same too along with the launch maps alt maps and whatnot if you have them

The reason it's at -1 is because the car pulls timing when there is knock (or supposed knock), so if it is supposed to be 8*, but only -1* then you'd think there would be more knock than 8 counts to pull that much.

When you set them the same, does it remove the safety feature of pulling timing, if there is legit knock?

No all it does whenever setting all the same is makes the octane rating void. It will still pull timing to the tune of 1 degree per 3 counts of knock.

wait so yes or no answer here. if all my maps are the same is my ecu going to pull any timing when it knocks?

also a question: if u get knock can it throw off the next few values when they fire because it pre detonated or is that not effecting when the spark is fired and it should be on point?

Yes the ecu will still pull timing when you knock. To my knowledge there is no way to turn that feature off. The reason I make them all the same is to lower the chances of random timing finding its way into the logs. Like say for some reason it decides to pull timing from your alt map or launch map for whatever reason. If there all the same it will read the same timing no matter where its getting it from. As far as your second part is concerned the ecu will pull timing as it is seeing 3 counts of knock or more.

I think that last part you asked, is..."can knock throw off subsequent values?" and the answer is yes. Knock decay will tell the ecu how long to wait before it says "okay, we're good...back to normal", meaning knock sort of hangs around and the ecu pulls timing until it's gone.

well it seems like it brings my timing down so much it knocks because its so low! i mean -1 where its supposed to be 8??

also when the timing is negative at high load i think the car isnt pulling anymore.

It certainly isn't going to pull near as much, and like you said retarded timing can cause more knock, because it's creating more heat since less energy goes into the stroke....so it's hotter and then gas detonates more, so it knocks more....

This is why I'm getting a pro to tune my car, lol, because all these "so....what do I do here?" questions are getting to be too much for me.
