the turbo was a friend deal that's why the turbo was cheap. I found the dude on here and when I met him I realized I knew him. I wasn't trying to be cheap about it just a very good deal from a guy I knew. I don't think anyone would have passed on it, I don't care what anyone says.

Steven- the wastegate was the first thing I ruled out because you had it on your car and was running fine.

Imma buy a rebuild kit then and give that a shot, if I don't buy another turbo. It's gonna be a little bit though.

Ok I was about to say, if it was through a friend I understand, but regardless 35 dollars though... cmon man, one of my friends is selling me a 9 turbo for around 300 and thats the best deal he could give me because they sell around for 400. The only reason im saying this is because now you have to take off your turbo drain the coolant again and refill it and install the turbo once more.

yeah i highly doubt it is a vacuum leak. with a vacuum leak, your idle would we jumping all over the place and your car would really be running like ****. if it's a bad leak you would probably hear it hissing under the hood during idle. if you have any of those issues i would take some starting fluid and during idle spray some under the hood around vacuum lines. the idle will spike where the leak is. be careful not to soak your lines because that **** will eat thru rubber lines stay a decent distance away. i found several vacuum leaks that way.

you could def role out the wastegate. if that was the case you would hear air escaping, especially if you had someone tack the car up while you got your head under the hood. i would say that it's probably the turbo. and the car is running so rich because the turbo not spooling is causing a restriction to airflow.

did you atleast put bigger fuel injectors in? if not, it's probably a good thing you're not boosting. i wouldn't skimp out on fuel delivery, leaning out would be very very bad.

anyone visiting this post have a turbo kit for 02 lancer they feel like departing from. hit me up if you do. i was going to order from RRM but they pissed me off. said they were going to give me a deal i couldn't pass up on and in return all they were going to do is cut me a break on money they already weren't going to make. they have all their items marked up 3% because that's what the credit card machine charges them. so if i paid in money order or check they would save me 3%. and i was going to order a turbo kit, flywheel, clutch and wideband. on 6k i would of saved 180 bucks. i'd be lucky if that covered shipping lol oh well

I have bigger injectors waiting in my room but I wanted to get it running good with the walbro for right now.

I did the carb cleaner trick to find the leaks and I couldn't find any.

Steven - I guess you are right. I didn't think about it because it sounded so good. The turbo had been sitting in his room for a year like he said so that should have alerted me. Oh well lesson learned.

Bent fins on the inlet and out compressor are another" watch out". People suck **** through there and mangle fins up sometimes.

sorry, when I'm just cruising the wideband reads 10.0 and then when I accelerate for a little bit it will read anywhere between 14.7 to 15.4.

Imma go back to radioshack and buy the stuff to make the logging cable. I lost the things I had bought already. I will log AFR so you can see what I mean.

stock lancer MAF, stock lancer injectors. I'll check my logs on the loads but they are in the 40-60 range.

The only fuel mod I have done is I have a walbro 255.

Yeah, walbro shouldn't increase fuel pressure from what I can tell, it just allows more gas to flow through but pressure ought to stay the same. So, only cruise then? What are you fuel trims? how is idle AFR? how is WOT A...wait, you can't WOT can you?

can't WOT, thats right. Well I can but it really won't do anything. I'll see if I can get the cable together this week and log AFR for ya.

It's crazy busy at work and being down an employee has put in a situation so time is very scarce for me.
