We don't have a map for closed loop afr. But we can hardwire our wideband into the ecu to control the idle. I'm going to clean my bov. It could be stuck open and also throwing my idle off.

Ok so I I cleaned my bov and went for a drive around the block. My car still feels like it's having problems with boost. Sooooooo I'm thinking it might be my forge wastegate. Luckily I have the evo wastegate that came with the turbo so I'm going to work on my tune a bit more so I can drop the evo wastegate in. I'm peaking at 8 psi and can probably just drop the wastegate in but I'd feel much better knowing I have a better tune. Hopefully I can install the wastegate tomorrow.

Well guys it's definitely a maf issue. I've tried just about everything but I can't quiet get it straightened out. I'm just going to run full time open loop. It's less hassle and I can tune the fuel maps easier that way. One question, do fuel trims log while using open loop? I don't see any low or mid trims logging. Unless I just haven't drove long enough. My fuel trims reset after each flash.

Small update.

THE GOOD

Yesterday I put the evo wastegate in and the car runs a lot better going into boost. I've been tuning a lot this afternoon and I've got a decent tune.

THE BAD

My clutch has started to slip. I was hoping it would last a bit longer so I could get a differential insert. I guess it's not all bad. I already have a lightweight fidanza flywheel and stage 3 clutch as well as stainless steel clutch line. I'm hoping I can get a chance to change it in a couple of weeks.

The fuel trims dont log while you're in open loop since they are using all sensors for the fuel correction and not only the O2 sensor like in closed loop. If you want to adjust your fuel injector scalings you will have to run in closed loop for the short and mid term fuel trim logging. Although it will not be significative if you have an exhaust leak before the o2 sensor so just use what most of us use in between 350-390 for the injector scaling. Also im sure its not a maf issue im sure its a programmation oand/or an intake/exhaust leak issue which is hard not to have in our setup unless you're using a manifold made for the 4g94 flange.

I think my piping and bigger air filter are what is contributing to my issue. But that car hauls ***!!!! Too bad my clutch can't handle it but it was bound to go out. My car is 10 years old. My brother and I are planning to change my clutch next weekend.

I bought this clutch a few years ago.

http://www.advancedclutch.com/mb8-xtss

I'll need to go thru it and make sure all the parts are there. Anyone have advice for preparing to replace a clutch? What additional parts would I need?

if you can, I would maybe look into swapping to an external clutch slave...with a stage 3 pressure plate, you don't want a leaky slave to ruin your brand new $500 clutch...

The 04-07 lancers have a external slave. That was the whole problem with my manifold. The intake on the turbo was being blocked by the external slave. I have another throw out bearing as well. Anything else I should order?

LSD

I always forget about the 04 up clutch release...I had an 03 ES, with the internal 2-in-1 release bearing...you COULD order a new rear main seal, depending on your mileage...

I came afford a lsd. I wish I could have held out longer but my clutch is even slipping in 4th now when I give it a good amount of gas. I'm just hoping this clutch lasts another week. Lol

then do the rear main seal at the very least while the tranny is out...unless you've got low mileage...

it's too bad you can't hold out, cause now that you have the power, you'll have even less traction than before...I did clutch and LSD before I turbocharged, so the progression was more streamlined, and less headache...

Yeah I'm ordering the rear main seal. It's only $23. It would be unwise not to do it since I'll be taking the flywheel off anyways.
