Maybe you should try some mild steel? My manifold is made from mild steel and feels solid. It is pretty heavy though. In the future I might put a bracket on but the manifold looks and feels so well built. Senate mentioned this place and it seems really good. This is where I got my copper gasket from. It fit perfectly. They make the 4g94 flange in stainless and mild steel.

I'd say one of three things:
Sub-par stainless
Bad welds
Breaking from weight

I work with medical grade stainless on a daily basis especially tubing and I can tell you that the stuff is pretty durable and when welded properly will not crack/break under some pretty extreme conditions. Granted most are not going to spend that kind of money but you get what you pay for unfortunately. I feel like most of the cheaper manifolds are made with Chinese stainless anymore. The stuff doesn't hold up well and is highly magnetic.

I say go with a custom manifold. Turning a 4g6x manifold into a 4g9x manifold puts stress on it. You already have a starting point. Have them jig up the old manifold and make a custom one. The jig will ensure you have the same turbo placement for the exhaust.

Another update, my intercooler pipe won't be done till sometime next week. The girlfriend and I are also expecting a baby on Thursday. So next week will be a bit hectic for me but I'll do my best to keep you guys updated.

Yes unfortunately DC sports is over priced with cheap quality material.

update : I got my intercooler pipe back and put on. I'm still having that darn lean problem!!! :/ I'm not sure what it can be. It's lean at idle and cruising so I'm positive it's still a closed loop problem. I have my own loop set to about 40% which is a band aid fix for cruising. Any thoughts?

Have you done any logging on it yet? What MAF you running? If you want, post your current rom and I'll take a look when I get home. Post a log if you have one too

Yes I've tried marcauxa1's rom and that runs even more lean. Especially with the lean spool enabled. I've went back to the rom I'm messing with now. It does seem a bit better with the intake nipple capped. It may be a injector thing now. I still need to tune the injectors.

Looking the log over now. I'm running the evo maf. Maybe I should try the lancer maf and see if that cures anything? I may try that tomorrow.

You said your injectors were derty before you installed them right? Did you clean them a little bit with carb cleaner or something before putting them in or not at all?

I cleaned them. I'm not sure what it can be. Maybe I need a better ground for my wideband? I was reading it could be that. But I've tried a higher injector scaling and lower injector scaling and nothing seems to richen if up at all. I think I'll check for exhaust leaks tomorrow morning and see if I find anything.
