I have the KIA slave but I have a important doctors appointment on the 29th and need my car to be reliable until then. Plus the Colorado weather sucks right now It snowed here on Sunday but it already melted. I'm looking to try the build sometime in March. I'm still reading thru the forum tho

Just got the snow on the ground today. It was horrible! We had 30mph gusts with snow fall I wish I had money for coilovers.

Yeah that sucks. This weather has been weird here this year. Just sunday it was 57 degrees and today it was about 20 with the wind chill. I can't wait for summer

Its been a while since I updated my thread but now I finally have a reason to update you guys Chase (beautifulpunk) & Justin (speed corps) have teamed up and have come up with another possible fix for the 04-06 lancers. It might be replacing the 02-03 as well?? I don't see why not. I just got a new design (prototype) from Chase today and hopefully I can test fit it this weekend. I won't be able to actually start the build until around May 5th tho. My first impression of it was it felt SOLID. It feels much more beefier than the orginal SC manifold. Its still a work in progress so it was not made to look pretty. If i get time this weekend I'll mate the manifold and turbo and see if it clears the external slave. Just by looking at it I'm almost sure it will . Its a also a bit more heavier than the orginal SC manifold but I don't feel like I can break this manifold with my hands. Hopefully I get time to check the clearance this weekend.

Can anyone tell me if the lower oil pan is like the upper with no gasket? I know the upper just has a sealant on it. I found a upper oil pan in the area but it doesn't come with the lower :/ so if the lower has a oem gasket I'd like to get one. From the FSM I don't see a "gasket" in it so I'm assuming I'll just need to seal it like the upper.

@jakermiester

On other engine builds ive seen them just using the sealant. But I cant speak from experience.

Good luck!

Using sealant works fine but I swear Ryan had a lower pan gasket when we initially put that engine together.

upper doesn't but lower does. I have one sitting on my bed. I didn't end up using it since I took the whole thing off together.
