beastly 2.4 build
man you have no idea how bad i want to get this thing going. just kinda hit a a wall with funds for a couple months. Im having to show a lot of restraint not buying car parts over paying my bills..lol i guess the bills are more important.
This is a great build. A lot of work going into it. I can't imagine what the final stages would be like. I'm nowhere near your level so i'll be on the sidelines, watching and learning along the way.
I know what you mean... I came across an awesome deal for a complete turbo setup for my Rx-8, but I need to get the yard landscaped and leveled so water quits ruining my foundation. Hmmmm fast car or collapsed house hahaha
I second!!! Builds like these make me even more proud to have a lancer and not an evo. That being said, if somebody wants to give me an evo that's cool I will still take it...just saying.
Prioritys will come 1st but i know u will come back up quick and get things moving again. Everyone has those months where bills take over but then it all gets settled up and back to the grind
cant wait till you start updating again

ok, rookie question but I haven't really looked into this but with the transmission, you are just taking the internals from your lancer transmission and moving them into the eclipse bellhousing but keeping the eclipse differential?
Also, which ECU are you using, the lancer one or the eclipse one? Or this I miss this somewhere?
I apologize if I am asking some rookie questions.

there are different routes you can go with the transmission.
let me start by sharing the differences in the two transmissions.
the eclipse tranny has a different bell housing and a different differential than the lancer tranny. the eclipse bell housing is obviously made to mate to the 4g6x motors where the lancer is obviously made to mate to the 4g9x motors. to use the eclipse transmission you are going to have to swap the eclipse differential with your lancer differential due to the difference in girth of the axles. eclipse axles are bigger round so the differential must be swapped to utilize you oem lancer axles. Eclipse axles are too long and too fat to fit into the lancer hubs.
if you can't find the 3g eclipse tranny(holy grail of fwd tranny's), then you can use your lancer transmission and just swap bell housings. but finding a 3g 5 speed eclipse bell housing may prove to be a little difficult as well.
basically if you wanna use the eclipse tranny, a differential swap is needed. If you want to use the lancer tranny then a bell housing swap is needed. but no matter what route you decide to take the eclipse diff will NOT be used.
as far as ecu Im running an evo8 ecu. you can find them all over the place for pretty cheap. around $100-$150.
they sound like good questions to me..

Wow your build makes me miss my Lancer. I did the 4G64 swap several years ago and it was very rewarding. 600+ horse power is awesome. I am curious to see how you are able to keep it on the road. That much power is going to be a torque steer nightmare. But I truly envy you. Post a video of the front tires popping when you get done.
