Turbo sounds weird and loss of power.

On sunday (also my bday) my ses light came on. I figured it was bc i out in the turbo and headers, but a few days ago i didnt have as much power as before. I watched the boost and it is still bosting just under 7psi. There is a weird sound coming from the turbo, it soudns like the fins are hitting something almost. Almost liek the sound of a baseball card being put in between the spoker of a bicycle wheel. This is maing me really nervous and so ive been keeping the rpms below 2k mostly. I do have an oil leak so im htinking it may be that there isnt enough oil running thru the turbo or something, but what do i know. Help me out.

you could have an exhaust leak at the wastegate...

nah i dont think so. the soudns coming from the turbo and it would be a lot louder if it was coming from the wastegate id think.

well the wastegate gasket that comes with the rrm kit sort of sucks... and from experience i can tell that anyone that did not replace it with like a metal gasket will eventually have an exhaust leak ... most likely going to lose power...

well worst case scenario... you blew your turbo... its hard to tell by your description...

I'd take off the turbo and make sure you don't have any small rock, nut's or screws lodged down in the turbine section.

it was the oil leak so i tightened up the feed line and topped of the oil and it was fine after that. but then last week a bolt from my wastegate fell off while i was on a main road and i lost all power practically bc it was wide open. just got a new bolt and was fine.

It's definitely a good idea to get some grade 11.5 or so hex bolts and some good lock washers for your wastegate. Mine came loose twice, and I finally just changed out the bolts, no problems since.
