Whistling sound from aem intake

Hey guys, recently I noticed a weird whistling sound came from my aem intake at idle. I know it whistle like an banshee when on boost, but it's somewhat a similar sound at idle. I noticed that I can hear the "weird sound" only when I first warm my car up in the morning. It sounds almost like the sweaking of a bad brake, but not as loud. It's audible enough to hear while sitting inside the car with windows down. I can hear it really clearly when I put my hear up to the intake filter.

My guess, I think there is something up with my turbo, but I'm not freaking out yet, because my car hit boost just as hard and there is not a noticeable performance setback due to the whistling sound. Please give me a suggestion on this matter. Thx guys...

Check for air leaks around the filter, or the metal "Mesh" on the MAF for bends.. sometimes those things will make a whistling sound..

Yes I do, I have the type S with single spring mod. But I never heard taht sound before . I just noticed it recently. And When I put my ear to the Type S, the sound is not as audible as the sound coming from the intake filter. I'm going to take it apart to check for leaks. But once again, the sound goes away if I rev my engine slightly or after a quick drive.

P.S I hope it's not something too dramatic....

no, i promise, its the type S open at vacuum slightly...you can now hear it through the intake. Of course if you put your ear on the type S you wont hear it well because it is recirced. You can hear it at the AEM because it is now amplified at that point through the tube. The reason is quits at driving or after driving is because of the differences in vacuum while throttle and driving. I have the same problem. But im willing to bet you are having the same.

If it is the BOV, heheh, then I'm not so worry about it. I was afraid that something went into the turbine or something is wrong with it. My first guess was the bov leaking or something, but my car pulls like a **** so it cant be that. THx for the reply.

no problem man...Im still trying to figure out how to get the Type S idle/ low throttle vacuum whistle to go away. It wants to whistle at vacuum and it gets annoying. Other than that, no problems with me.
