check engine light
check engine light
wuzzup everyone, i need a little help. i just finished putting a turbo kit on my car and now the check engine light is on. i took it over to my boys shop and put the scanner on the car and the codes that are coming up is the knock sensor code and the lean code. but what i don't understand is that i have plenty of fuel going to the motor and when i put the car on the dyno it put out some good horsepower and the air/fuel ratio was good. the fuel set up i have is 12:1 fmu, b&m fuel pressure regulator, walboro 255 pump and a apexi super afc. i will actually be putting bigger injectors this weekend but besides that i have just about everything done for the fuel except an upgraded ecu. what i want to know is this normal when you turbo this lancer and is there any damage being done to car and please help with any ideas you guys have.
the turbo on the car is nice, car runs really good. the turbo i have is a little to big for the car but i plan to build up the motor anyways so the turbo i have will make the car run even better with a built motor.
awesome to hear you have a turbo... did u get a kit ( and if so where from? ) or did you go all custom?
Sorry to hear about your problem, I for one cannot help you, but just wanted to ask the above question. I know there are a ton of people that browse these forums who should be able to help you, so this post will help keep your thread on the main screen for them to see

do you have the FMU hooked up backwards?
and you have the bnm copmmand flow regulator replacing tyhe stock on your fuel rail correct? if the base line fuel pressure right? i didnt think command flow was pressure sensative

well the fmu orginally was hooked up backwords and then we went to the dyno and figured that out a hooked it up the correct way. and the b&m is of the honda and had to be modified a little bit and you might be right that might be the problem. but before we had put the regualtor on the car which was after we went on the dyno with the stock regulator the check engine light was still on. so you got me!!

heres an update, i went back to my boys`shop and had them turn check engine light off and he told me to drive around untill it comes back, well it came back on so i took it back to him and at least the good news is that the only code that came back on was the knock sensor code. so i still need help on how to fix this problem. or should i change the knock sensor and see what happens.
