Thanks for the speedy answers, Ross. You're helping take the remaining mystery out of the SDS sytem for me. Hopefully that'll help me better explain them to members as well (since there are a good amount of questions).

When you do use aftermarket cams (in other cars) it's generally done similar to a turbocharged cam profile, right?

Cool i see now... your just minipulating the ratio's for the drive system allowing more revolutions on the SDS for more boost right? Does the increased drive capacity increase any bearing stresses or are they balanced out to negate that?

RIPP i think you'll see some more business as soon as customers start pimping more. That's pretty much all that's left. A lot of ??'s have been answered and facts are out there. Thanks for you honesty in all this.

Road Race blows up their cars and are proud of it. Theres more people who blew their car up using a RRM kit than people who actually have RIPP kits. Atleast keep things real. From what I see RIPP is a on there way to being a major supercharger manufacturer and their quality parts and engineering are second to none. As soon as I have my finances in order ill be getting an SDS.

There's a lot more people who HAVE RRM turbos than RIPP Mods superchargers. They've been out longer, and they've had their business in the Lancer game longer.

RIPP Mods IS a fairly large already in the import SC community. Definitely for Mitsubishi. They have a reputation, now they're just extending it to the 4g94.

Yeah their drag car(shop lancer) was getting pushed way to high for the stock rods. It had JE pistons but everything else was stock. It was fine and dandy at 13psi but ROCK/ROB turned her up a bit to see it they could get a better time as the 12.9's weren't good enough i guess.

Other than that i've seen three other RRM kits blown. One was trying to boost 10psi on his stage 1... he paid the price for thinking his autometer AF gauge was accurate. RRM states no higher than 7psi and the kit is set at about 5psi. The other was a mishap. Seems the wastegate he received had a heavy spring(set for high boost). The great thing was that RRM got a new motor for that customer, installed it, and had him boosting safe and sound in a matter of days. All at no charge since it was an error on their part. The third fell prey to a bad install. Seems his radiator hose wasn't put on right and not clamped... it blew off... he overheated... didn't see the temps rising and was racing. Engine went bye bye. Install error can happen to anyone. That is why you are supposed to check, double, triple check your stuff prior to beating on it. It's all in the instructions!

Bazooka... have your ducks in a row before you go hunting. I know all of the RRM details and i'm not hidding anything. All of this info is on this site. All people have to do is search for the stories. Anything else you here is just rumor or makebelieve.

Out of 100+ kits that are out there now, with over 2 years on some of them, every customer is happy and most have been upgrading to stage 2 or intercooled recently.

RIPP's kit is a great alternative but there has been a lot of undisclosed info and coverup type situations that people are not happy with. Just be honest and people will come forward more. Hell there is only like 5 kits out there right now so it needs time to get all the bugs worked out i guess.

What really seems weird is there is always a newb or relatively new screen name that comes in making comments like you just did bazooka. I'm beginning to wonder if your really RIPP just making up a post to goat me or something

Yeah i know... i'm just giving him some shi@! It seems that a lot of people are chiming in that way lately... under a newb sign i mean. It's a weird trend i've been noticing on a lot of posts.

Hey zoo... how loud is your idle? The eclipse and golants have that distinct metallic sound at idle from the SC. Not only can you tell they are not stock but so can the cops here in CA. Is the 4 cyl. pretty quiet at idle? I know the SC gets ripping loud othewise but i'm just wondering. Besides turning heads have you ever had any issues with coppers giving you the eyes? Out here in CA the cops are a-holes like that!

Most NY and NJ cops don't look twice in my experience. For those who have heard my car they should know it's pretty freakin' loud, and I've yet to get pulled over in it (knock on wood). Even with Cali's standards in NY I think the cops in general are a lot more relaxed.

Obviously I can't comment on the SC sound, but I can comment on the general attitudes of area police (which is suprisingly pretty cool).

At idle you hear a whistleing sound, but it is quiet and most people don't even notice it. When you get on it, it isn't louder at all. I did already have a RRM header, test pipe, and a RMR rear section though.

my idle is not that loud with a stock hood, but i have a vented hood so its a lil louder then other supercharged cars...not as loud as the 6cyl. cops don't give me an issue at all...if i get pulled over...i give dem PBA cards signed by there bosses so dey usually don't bust me.

but i dont drive like an ******* on da roads...

Zoo... it's good to see that the cops over there aren't the a-holes they are out here. Are you running meth. inj. and boosting 11psi yet? You dyno'd your SC yet? GURU DEL just did his and DAMN ... i hope RIPP can make the auto do that well. He put down more than the 5 speed SC at 11psi. He's only at 8-8.5psi.

Your auto has to screeeeeeemmmmmm!! I'm very impressed by how smooth the auto's feel compaired to the manuals. They come on strong earlier as well i think. Auto's seem to put out a huge load so i'd imagine the SC yanks you back much earlier in the auto than in the 5 speed? Hope your breakin is going smooth and you can get to the track soon.

Bigvinx... congrats man... welcome to the world of Forced induction. Definately get that lsd and clutch. That will make the car a million times faster. Remember to be careful for the breakin period. RIPP's system needs to learn and adapt and as it does it puts down more power i've heard. Thus don't get crazy on it till she's ready... then tear up the streets brother!
