thats wat i wanna know. and the "is it better than turbo?" question. maybe change it to "is it worth spending the money on it rather on the turbo?"

The lack of effort should astound me, but I've seen some of the "been there a thousand times, done that to death" questions you've asked before so....

(These are both from page 1 of the FI tech forums)

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/lancer-aftermarket-forced-induction-tech/4903-supercharge-turbo.html

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=85586

(And on page 2)

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=85101

If you want to compare, do a little leg work. It's not rocket science, just put some effort into it. Browse and search and you won't have to wait half a day for a response like this.

maybe it would be good to make this a public poll so that you can see we can see how many and who has it.

Repost X10000000000001

Its personal Opinion, Decide What you want out of your car, what you want it to do and how much you want to spend. Do some research on both systems and how they work and effect the car. Im not going to get into another "Belt drive uses more power then ehxaust drive" arguments because quite frankly its irrevelent. Click on the links provided. Do some readintg there. Remember this board is very RRM biast (no-offfence to the company they are great. But it's true) and search the internet (Not evoM) on how they both work. Go to www. howstuffworks.com for help. Lots of answers there.

What it comes down to is that one isnt better then the other, this is a question that has been around since the dawn of forced induction and if there was distinctly one being better then the other then the discussion would be irrevelent.

I personaly would rather go with supercharger for my own reasons but you will find most people onm this site will prefer turbo.

its simple....lay out a mat with 'turbo/super' all over it...than throw a ball on it....wherever it lands...get it or close ur eyes and 'pin the tail on the donkey' kind of thing.

its whatever u prefer....like they said "the decision between turbo/super has been around since it started....super is still out...so is turbo...so u can't go a 'wrong' way...just a 'different' way.

who blew their motor with the rrm turbo? either way the ratio of blown to not blown is much great with the sc already.

well here, i'm not going to go into full detail. the reason why the motor was blown happened for a couple of reasons. 1- the motor was in a weak condition even before it was outfitted with the supercharger (the car was driven HARD). 2- the motor was not properly broken in after having the supercharger installed (ripp recommends at least 1000miles, but reading reason 1 its easy to see why this happened). and basically thats it. either way the system is still VERY new and should be experimented with.

So if you drive your car hard you shouldn't get a supercharger? I beat on my car all the time. but I do the usual maintenance... Is my car too weak for a SC?

I blew my car twice before i ever went turbo with NOS... you could say i beat the hell out of it. All i did was re-hone and drop in new pistons. Had the head repaired as well. My motor was litterally a pile compared to one that hadn't been blown. I boosted higher than RIPP on my setup and never had any issues.

A 1000 mile breakin is absolutely absurd. Take the RRM kit around the block a few times checking for leaks and if it's all cool it's go time. RIPP came on here and posted like GODS!! Then a motor blows up and it's the customers fault! He's an automatic also right? GURU DEL's car is strong and he beats the living crap out of it... I told him to in order to see if it was all good! By the way RIPP still has the "NO ENGINE FAILURES" Crap posted on their site. ZOO's blow up is their fault in my opinion. Their black box is supposed to be all powerful and great. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Not to totally bash RIPP or their kits as i've seen great success with some of their stuff. I've even recommended some of their kits to Galant/3rd Gen Eclipse guys! My bad feelings toward them is that they came in hyping a lot then backed out quite a bit when the Group Buy they wanted fell short. Now they put a few kits on cars and a mistake happened. They are NOT GODS in any way. Mistakes happen and everyone knows this. Zoo's treatment of the car prior to going Supercharged has nothing to do with his mishap. He had driven the car for a bit prior to his blowup so the 1000mile stuff is crap as well.

The Supercharger is a viable kit for the lancer... turbo or super is a personal opinion and there are posts out there about the subject with lots of info. Just search and read. However don't blame ZOO for what happened and don't think that RIPP will be there if you have a problem as obviously they will just blame the operator and wash their hands of the matter.
