Kenwood/MP3 gurus please help?

OK, i've got a KDC-MP332 Kenwood flip-face dash unit and it is MP3 capable with folder scrolling etc etc. What my question is, is...how the hell do you burn the MP3 cds to work? I'm using CDRW's since I don't want to waste a ton of CDR's figuring it out. I have burned a couple cds in MP3 format using Sonic DigitalMedia Plus v7 and none will work. I've tried the 'full erase' instead of the quick erase mode to clear the CDRW, and when I burn it using the Jukebox CD/DVD setting (the one for MP3 capable decks it says) In that program, it won't work. When I put the cd in the deck, it'll start playing, like the counter will start, but it won't play any sounds & I cannot scroll from folder to folder. Any ideas?

Right now i'm going to try burning it as a data cd

It should work if you burn it as a data CD. I always do that for my Pioneer deck and it never failed! If that doesn't work, maybe try a different brand of CD-R/RW. I already had a head unit that had problems to read cheap CDs...

It might be the program you are using.

Try just burning the disc in windows explorer.

Open up the disc and just drag and drop the files into it. You can also create folders there if you wish.

You have to finalize the disc. you have data on the disc, but the CD deck is not familiar with CDRW data storage. Which means on a computer you can read them because of the "disc tray". so the answer to your question is you have to finalize them to read them, and no you cant go back and drag and drop (no more) I have JVC deck and its USB compatible so I can drag and drop songs on my USB drive. Hope that helps!

Ova2onE is right... if you see something like "multi-session disc" in your CD burning program, do not select it. Most of the times, when you select "No multisession", your software will automatically finalize the disc...

Yeah it depends on the program of the computer I use one named sonic that mine came with, go to download.com and see if there is some good music player/mp3 maker software there. 20 song cds are a waste of money 100 songs in one is a lot better

Yeah, tried all the above, nuttin' goin'. Tried it with a CDR (as opposed to a CDRW) to no avail. Not really sure, but i'm using NERO now, and if anything could do it, it's NERO...

If you have Windows XP drag all the files onto the CD bay and under files > click "write these files", if you still experience problems make sure the box (Kenwood deck) says mp3 compatible. If you can take it back take it back, get a USB deck. carry your music around anywhere. Can't help you without seeing your work. Sorry!
