Does anyone have problem with playing Mp3s? I’m having problem playing my mp3 disk. It could be with folders or without folder and there are less then 90 files (songs) on the cds. The problem is that if you put the disk in for the first time it can read the disk and play fine. But if you turn off the car and turn it on again it can’t read the disk. What it does is just keep trying to read the cd but can’t read it at all. But if you eject the disk out and put it back in it reads find until you stop the car or turn the car off. It keeps doing like that all the time.

In a few occasion while the cd is playing or I jump to a different track it can’t read the cd again. But there is nothing wrong with that track or song because as soon as I take disk out and jump to the track or the song it plays fine. It’s just getting really annoying to me now because I don’t want to keep taking the disk in and out again and then find the last track that was listening to.

Now, I have tried with TDK, Memorex, Sony and Verbatim cds and used different software to burn it (Nero, Roxio and Ulead DVD MovieFactory. They all have the same issue with reading the disk.
I have notice that on regular (orginal) cds not mp3 cds I have not yet encounter that problem.
What could be wrong?

It sounds like the head unit. I burn with nero and have no problems. I did experience some bad playback from certain bitrates of mp3's but never causing it not to read. I would take it into the dealer.

 

Never had that problem. But I'm also **** about setting up the folders EXACTLY like it shows in the owner's manual. I don't know if that has an effect or not...

 

I notice the problem with my data cds......but only if i try to change the track......it eventually plays, but it can take some time to find the next track.......I havent tried after turning the car off though I will do that tomorrow!

 

I know probably you have already tryed, but burn it at slower speed (try 8x).
Some burner just aren't made to burn fast and do a good job.

 

also try using a friends burner and see what happens.

 

I have tried burn it with a different burner, but I have not yet try to burn it at a slower speed. I'll give it a try at 8x today.

 

yeah i burned at 12x....and it played my data disc fine today...still a little slow reading the tracks if i manually changed them but not bad.

 

I just tried at 12x but still having the same problem. I guess my next try is 8x to see if that work.

 

well if it didn't worked at 12x, there's pretty good chances it won't change anything even at 2x ..
You better go hit dealership.
